After watching the original video and looking through this thread, I'm starting to realize that people are stereotyping Fresh Prince.
People are seriously treating it like it was this profound, moral sitcom meant to teach you a lesson and think about life every episode. It's like a backhanded way of complimenting it if you're into Martin more, on some "Yeah, it wasn't funny, but it taught you things" shyt.
The show didn't go out of its way to teach lessons every episode. There were definitely episodes with morals, but a lot of the episodes were just about comedy. Like the one where Bell Biv DeVoe shoots a music video in the house, or when Will was up all night trying to study for a chemistry test. Those are two of the best episodes of the show and they had nothing to do with messages or morals. They were just based in comedic fukkery.
