We need to have a Coli 'Panel Discussion' where some of ya'll get the opportunity to hear how you really sound from post to post and how much your arguments change to fit a certain narrative. Maybe you just don't know enough music history to even qualify for certain discussions, either way:
  1. Are you really mad that Beyonce fanatics ride as hard as they do, or is your real anger directed at the fans of music you like for being so passive? All this time we been screaming fukk the critics, and fukk the industry, I guess by default the only thing left for us to "fukk" are the fans, lol.
  2. Are you really mad that a 35 year old Beyonce is "pretending" to be socially aware? Would it be easier for you if she kept it real? Even if her latest evolution were totally fake you'd still have to say she's doing a whole helluva lot more than most of us will do/have done at the same age.
  3. Remember when songwriting credits used to just have one or two names? It's not cuz less people were involved, ITS CUZ LESS PEOPLE WERE GETTING PROPERLY CREDITED FOR THEIR fukkING CONTRIBUTION!!
  4. Funny how all of a sudden she's a no talent hack when between her, her mom and her dad they ran a whole fukking operation for the first 5 years! People forget about Tina being up 36hrs straight sewing stage costumes. People forget, everything with Destiny's Child/Beyonce was homegrown; hand sewn outfits, they did their own hair and make up, choreography, wrote songs and dad ran the label. So you think after 20 years industry experience she can't put together a video/movie treatment and be hands on working with her TEAM of writers, stylists, dancers, musicians, etc? fukk outta here.
I hate come off as shytting on one person to big up another, but that seems to be the only way to paint a vivid enough picture for it to actually click in some of ya'lls heads. No disrespect, but to call Beyonce manufactured and then turn around site Janet a s a superior talent is mindblowing. Janet's vocals, image and choreography were so....I'll stop cuz I like Janet. Alicia Keys is another artist I like, but only thing separating her from her contemporaries is that damn piano, that doesn't make her more authentic. Most of ya'll would pass out if you knew that just about every major vocalist in that same ilk from Toni Braxton to Brandy, Mariah, Beyonce and everyone in between could play piano! True Alicia is a virtuoso on the keys, but it doesn't come across in her music like say a Roberta Flack or Aretha Franklin. Ironically, Beyonce is probably one of the last organic superstars but gets so much flack for being "manufactured" when truth be told a lot more effort was spent creating images for and marketing most of your favorite [Neo] Soul acts that started out around the same time as Beyonce. I'll leave that one alone too cuz I'm talking about some of my favorite artists, but its the truth.

Oh and look at her army of writers on a 2015 POP album:
25 (Adele album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I double counted the producers, that was my mistake regarding Kanye. But regardless, still a very small amount of writers in general especially vs Beyonce.

Not American artists..... and Adele is not a pop star in the traditional sense from an American standpoint......nor a trendsetter.........

matter of fact.... if any high selling artist is a byproduct of the machine... its her...... due to the fact that no artist of a different color can be a straight vocalist, sing similar style music.. and still sell that many records.... not in 2014/15/16

So a story about infidelity is "creative genius"?

:mjlol:

You said that the machine can get 50 writers/collaborators together and create hits for anyone..... and that's not true... not true at all

If it was... Universal and Columbia would have a roster full of artists going multi with each yearly album drop...

The fukk?

They do it all the time 90% of the "hits" on the radio today are created in the same way.

and way to twist my words. I said
'The thing is, that most anybody can present an idea/theme/vibe to 50 creators/artists and then come out with something good at the end'

said nothing about making "hits" or going platinum

Isn't pop music just any song that a lot of people enjoy? Meaning a pop star is just an artist that makes music the mainstream enjoy consistently?

If you're specifically talking about bubblegum pop, I'd agree with you. Plenty of those acts don't write their own stuff.

But I'd consider someone like James Bay and Adele to be a pop music acts as much as Beyonce is. Bay is American, popular and puts in work with the pen: Chaos and the Calm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I went to Coachella and his set was packed. Dude will be around for a while.

Also consider plenty of the most popular artists played on American radio today are foreigners.

edit: man, James Bay ain't even American smh.

Nah... Not really.... We talking about volume sales and tour dates.... and you only have a select few artists who are doing that..... that can be really classified in the "pop" genre that is
