It ain't rocket science...she's the most popular act in her lane, it's some kind of innate birthright and civic duty for people to cry about those types on the Internet. ..it'll be that way until she's way passed her prime or dies prematurely

Muhfukkas in here talking about "manufactured stars" then propping Janet fukking Jackson up in the same breath ...I love Janet as much as the next man that came of age in the 90s. ..but we're gonna sit here and pretend the entirety of her music career exists for any other reason than because her brother was the biggest pop star on earth or that she's anywhere near as talented vocally as Beyonce?
How did that work out for Latoya, Jermaine or any of the other siblings that dropped albums?

I can't agree with this statement...

ok. beyonce has more range but what good is it when she doesn't knock it out the ballpark and really sing with emotion and feelin'?

you suppose to feel songs, songs suppose to bring out emotions. beyonce's music comes across as lifeless to me

i'm sorry, but beyonce vocally don't move me at all. never has

i can feeeeeeeel this. even with janet's less of a range, she does her thing and makes it work. (beyonce doesn't)

If mediocre singing like that is all it takes to move u then we in different leagues bruh..I been growing up around sangers (gospel style) since lil
Singing like that video is not sanging..
But like I said janet lacks ballads which is why less of her music moves me
It is wat it is

Yeah I can't take OP seriously because Mariah Carey writes her own lyrics. She wrote 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' which is a legit Christmas classic.

Beyonce is very talented but you can never force the music to be more than what it is. Once Beyonce's fanbase dies her music is going to be relegated to the dustbin of history.

Beyawnce's talent > Janet's talent

Beyawnce's < Janet's music, but Beyawnce's collabs with the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd > Janet's music

However, outside of the songs where the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd blesses her with the GOAT stimulus package, and the fact that she partially inspired the GOAT to make some amazing music about her (most recently on WTT & MCHG), idgaf if Beyawnce aka leader of the BeyHIV aka Shawn's skeet box dropped dead tomorrow of Ebola contracted while visiting funky ass, fly covered 3rd world orphans in Haiti :mjlol:

no one "tears down" beyonce. people simply state she is slightly above average or ok in retort to her delusional ass fans(some people in this thread) who want to prop her up on some all time greatest, prince, MJ, whitney, mariah level.
her "artistry" is just forced down people's throats and most people refrain from saying anything because of her rabid ass fans.

and the "yall just tearin down ur own" shyt is just retarded. white people constantly shyt on pop artists go to any comment section on youtube or a white forum. one of the biggest rappers in the world who happens to be white has notoriety for shytting on pop artists.

beyonce stans really need to start a cult and die off somewhere

It is wat it is

all i'm sayin' is this beyonce don't move me

janet does, she evokes emotion when she sings. even at the low level of whisper like singin'
obviously whitney did, toni braxton does, mariah did, chaka does, glady's knight.... but beyonce? nope. she just sings without any emotion or feelin'
sorry bruh, beyonce just bland
again, can beyonce sing? yes. but she fails to bring any emotion or feelin' into her music when she does
it is what it is

only time will tell but i can actually see this happening a long time from now. she has so few genuine bonafide classics imo. most of her hits feel generational.

to this day i still have no idea how crazy in love went onto become such a huge bombastic smash hit. thought it was a cute little song, nothing more.

I can't agree with this statement...

Jermaine was like co-lead singer of the Jackson 5, so he's kind of like Kelly to beyonces Michael (whereas janet is like an infinitely more successful Solange). ..Latoya was batshyt crazy and never really had the support of the fam or their pull in the industry ...but yeah, they're both products of music industry nepotism and the "machine" just like janet...she's not some just naturally supremely talented singer that would've been a star no matter what...she has a career because of the success of her family and because the suits at a label sat around in an office one day and went "hey.. Mike's lil sister is cute, let's put her some of the most producers5 on three planet and make some money"...she went on to become a superstar and an icon, but if there ever been a "manufactured" artist, she's it

@Long Live The Kane I'm trying to find your stupid comment about Janet. First of all, you do recall she came out with 2 albums before "Control" right? "Janet Jackson" her first album came out in 82...

2 months before Thriller....now while Thriller was selling records why wouldn't anybody say hey this is Mike's kid sister lets buy her records just cause she is his sis. Then the followup album was "Dream Street"...Mike didn't have a new labum out but he was still big and even bigger.

She became popular in 86 with Control through hard work and being her own individual. Stop with the revisionist history. I say all the time alot of yall just say shyt without thinking.

I will say though that they gave her the star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood too premature in 90 or 91 and Mike being her brother played a part. But the two albums released after her first 2 were definite classics and she was on her way to becoming a legend anyway. Even Mike was influenced by her. There is a series of pics showing he took several of the dance routines in the "Bad" video from her "Nasty" video.

Beyonce is a great performer.

I consider her like a Taylor Swift before Taylor Swift. She's already a decent artist but don't fool yourself if you think she doesn't have the most cutting edge team behind her with the hottest producers. If Beyonce and Taylor ever collab together, the world might split in two from the collective screams of women.

I told yall about this book a few months back:
images

the music industry is the new theater. nothing is what it seems...NOTHING.
the book is filled with shyt like this:

"Pop hitmakers frequently flirt with plagiarism, with good reason: Audiences embrace familiar sounds. Sameness sells. Dr. Luke in particular has been accused repeatedly of copyright infringement. His defense: “You don’t get sued for being similar. It needs to be the same thing.” (Dr. Luke does get sued for being similar, and quite often; he has also countersued for defamation.) Complicating the question of originality is the fact that only melodies, not beats, can be copyrighted. This means a producer can sell one beat to multiple artists. The same beat, for instance, can be heard beneath Beyoncé’s “Halo” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone,” hits released within four months of each other in 2009. (The producer, in his defense, claimed they were “two entirely different songs conceptually.”) As Seabrook notes, although each song was played tens of millions of times on YouTube and other platforms, few fans seemed to notice, let alone care."

whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson didn't write their songs either and all had a great team behind them too. Why is Beyoncé the only one heavily critisized for it?

Mariah wrote her music she's the most artistic (especially when it comes to how she will sing the song) out of every female artist mentioned in this thread. Yeah she had a group that would assist her on writing but she's been writing her own music before she was even signed.
