Natural hair is a lot of work. Any kind of curly hair is work, any kind of thick hair is work. I don't understand why men who deal with none of this always have something to say about what women should do.

Does the Coli have some cosmetology certification I don't know about :lupe:

Who is down to come finger detangle this mane? :shaq: Then tell me how easy it is.
I'm down for detangling, but u gotta feed me sweets

Been natural for about 4 or 5 years and I can say that having a relaxer is much easier than being natural especially when you first go natural. First, you have to find products that work in your hair, I was using Pantene relaxed/natural for the longest and this ish was drying out my hair. I was also shampooing my hair every week which is bad for natural hair because it strips the much need moisture from it. Then I was pulling it out every morning because I just slept on it then woke up and picked it out, without using any moisturizer.

Now I know how to manage my hair and while it's still some work, it's not as bad as it was in the beginning. All I have to do is co-wash and detangle once a week, shampoo/deep condition once a month, and I only have to moisturize it once a week because the product I use keeps my hair soft and shiny for that long. The only hard part is the braid out, I do it every night before I do to bed to avoid my hair from becoming matted or tangled. That's the hard work, hell I've gone a whole week keeping my hair in braids simply because I didn't want to put it back up that night :mjlol:

yall are the same fools who were calling out michael jackson in not having pride in being a Black man and "ruining" his good Black skin and how he was ashamed of being a Black man....yall some damn hypocrites...its amazing how brainwashed you all are...

Black men I dated mostly natural women. The work they have to put into maintaining their hair is real. My ex used to take hours two twist her hair just to take it all out the next day for a twist out. Some of you black men act so insensitive towards black women and their hair. You think they just wake up with natural curly poofs of hair? Most natural chicks do twist outs for that look.

This is true. I had an ex that would be take the most gorgeous instagram, poofed-out curly fro pics. But she put in hella work to get that look. During the week she would have what I called "maintenance hairstyles." Basically lil dookie twists or whatever they're called. shyt used to have me like :scusthov: "You gon' leave the house like that?" Not to mention spending two nights a week combing out knots from her hair. All the conditioning... etc. I know way too much about this. :lupe:

It was hard work when I was growing out an afro for months the first half of this year and getting it to be smoother.....so what did I do??? :krs:

Did I get a blonde toupee :krs: ? No I shaved my hair off since it was so "hard"...god women just lack logic sometimes :snoop:
so what ur saying is we should go bald if we cant or refuse to maintain natural hair?

Wow…this was actually a good read. There are a lot of men in this thread who have seen their natural haired women in action and can appreciate and acknowledge that it takes time and energy to care for your natural hair (especially if it's long and kinky).

This was really beautiful…like for real :to:
