Wow…this was actually a good read. There are a lot of men in this thread who have seen their natural haired women in action and can appreciate and acknowledge that it takes time and energy to care for your natural hair (especially if it's long and kinky).

This was really beautiful…like for real :to:

My daughter will probably have 4C hair and I need to have knowledge. :to:

Just think about how much easier it will be for her since both you and your wife will have the knowledge and PATIENCE to teach her.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
shes just lazy, how hard is it to groom yourself?
she pays thousands of dollars a day for hair and makeup people to follow her around

so she doesn't even groom herself... as a matter of fact it probably takes a shytload longer to get sewn and glued than it does to run a damn comb through your head

None of what you mentioned is akin to taking care of natural hair at all :heh:

Taking care of your hair is part of personal hygiene...
For example, while I was on the train, someone sat in front of me, and a whiff of dirty hair mixed with sweat, shea butter and build up hit me upside the head...:scusthov:I looked up and it was this beautiful kinky-curly hair, thick too...

I can only imagine how her pillow smell :scusthov:...

I wanted to tell her that her hair stank but..that is none of my business

so what ur saying is we should go bald if we cant or refuse to maintain natural hair?

Yes because cutting your hair low is the same as going bald...that is the definition of bald when you look it up in the dictionary

Yes, taking care of hair is part of hygiene. But is the process of maintaining natural hair as easy as what you named? Not at all. That is what your post implied, and yes twerking is easier too.

DO OR DIE
NIKKA...:snoop: do you agree that some Black women, simply haven't been taught to take care, manage, maintain, whatever you call it.. their natural hair? Yall actually supporting relaxers and weaves, you won't find me agreeing with that fukk shyt. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Are you fine with natural kinky curly weaves? I generally agree with you throughout this thread but just wondering. Cuz if you support synthetic hair braids for an "ethnic" look then I would imagine "ethnic" weaves should also be fine.

Do y'all ever get tired of talking about hair?

Lol I actually think it's good that black men want to add to the convo. I know some posters take it a bit far but overall it kind of seems like the point of having a counterpart. Black men being invested enough about their women's hair is charming when done in a non-Napoleon and Chris B way.

Overall I think the convo about natural vs relaxed hair doesn't really grasp the bigger picture. Tribal african women are shown spending hours on intricate hairstyles for weddings or ceremonies. Then their others shown with short cuts I imagine to avoid the heat from hair on their neck and possibly lice/bugs.

But when we as modern black women live in a euro centric society based on slaving 9-5 and individualism why would we have time to do our natural hair for hours on end? Our unnatural environment doesn't allow it. These styles and care weren't meant to be done by one person and no one has the time. I think if we focus on trying to withdraw a bit from modern western living things like natural hair, natural living etc will follow.

But that is the thing it always turns into the negative conversations with the same people who have no intention of anything constructive. Even the guy you quoted with me...site is full of hypocrites they don't really care to learn, know or empathize. They don't even care to fully read a reply. Just go zero to 60 repeating the same rants.
