The -ess is a suffix indicating a female in the role, so no a male would not be called -ess unless it is requested. See my point in my previous post where I stated just like a Lion and Lioness have different titles they are both Lions. To be female is to be other, but that's a whole nother conversation.

The point that I'm trying to clarify is..

Why would a female want to call herself a King, considering that title is designate to the highest office of the nobility that a male can have?

A man, of the nobility or of great power is not going to call himself Queen or Empress or anything that would denote him being opposite sex? Why would this be different for a woman operating within the confines of western society?

I mentioned it in one of my first replies. I hate repeating myself. Why wouldn't a woman want to be the highest office? Why would she want to be limited by her gender? And I also stated a King is the title of a ruler. A female King is called Queen. Of course, different places have different rules they follow.

Remember, yall are arguing over Beyonce who is not ruler of anything land or country. Let shyt go. It's not that serious.

So this confirms Jay Z is Queen Jay?

Why should he limit himself based on Gender?

Since Beyonce is King Beyonce and you just confirmed a female King is a Queen, are you now confirming Jay Z is actually a female and Beyonce is a Male?

I don't care about Beyonce, she's a great act put out to entertain the masses. Wholly irrelevant to me. I'm focused on you right now.

So Queen Elizabeth II is not sitting in the highest regnal office of the U.K. and is not the leader of the Church of England? She's limited by her gender in this regard? Never mind her ancestors, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria who had the most praised reigns in British history even slightly besting that of King George III?

A King is a male leader, a Queen is a female leader, as designate by sex..there is no variance in power. Queen Anne Boleyn, could snap her fingers and have people killed and speak and hold court just as easily as Henry VIII, why is this hard to understand? Just because modern feminist thought would like to relinquish or modify the standard doesn't mean it'll be correct. I'm befuddled.
