Ecclesiastes is apocryphal though, but the understanding of dwelling on the scriptures is still valid. But I do not follow Ecclesiastes for many reasons I’ve posted here before. It is heathen logic by heathens for heathen

You sure you’re not confusing Ecclesiastes with ECCLESIASTICUS? Ecclesiastes is in the Bible while the other is in the apocrypha. But even if we attribute both to being apocrypha, here’s how I judge what I read:

Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

I don’t think there’s anything off base in Ecclesiastes to toss it out. But if there is, it’s not with the verse I brought. Nowhere is there a responsibility put on anyone to understand prophecy or even history. The responsibility is always to simply obey the Creator.

The Bible is a collection of texts mutually agreed upon by various councils over many centuries by different parties. Apocryphal books can wildly shift your understanding and should be kept at a distance and not confused with words given by the LORD

Do not confuse people here with it

My answer to your Genesis verses is that it doesn’t matter who the angel(s) is/are. Because of this:

Deuteronomy 30
when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today,3 then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you.

This says whoever the Israelites are can only be regathered when they RETURN to what Moses commanded them.
It’s not your responsibility to interpret Genesis correctly. It’s not to interpret prophecy correctly. It’s also not your responsibility to know who the angel (who obviously didn’t want to be recognized by name) is. This is your responsibility:

Ecclesiastes 12
Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body
13 Now all has been heard here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments for this is the duty of all mankind.

Keeping the commandments is your responsibility. Of course extra reading leads to greater understanding and wisdom. But to introduce a new figure into the faith that isn’t spelled out in the commandments? When you were told RETURNING to the commandments is what frees you from your captivity? I don’t get it which is why I said something
:yeshrug:

And there’s a difference from someone saving/delivering another from a situation and calling someone the whole savior of Israel/the world. If you have a son and someone came and resuscitated him when he needed it, you’d allow him to wake up and call that someone their savior? Because that’s where your logic here would lead you

Did you keep Shavuot today?

if you analyze islam's interpretation of Jesus, it is very similar to Gnosticism. Most likely that the first Muslims were gnostic christians who were exiled from the byzantine empire due to heretical beliefs

:francis: Given the accusations, that’s not a good sign
I need you to follow me.

Someone said Khadija (his wife) was said to be catholic hence the influence of Catholicism in Islam. I asked for a source and then you jumped in with meaning of her name is significant.

The most I found about her name meaning is someone who was born prematurely, which is not significant to the post i was replying to. Khadija appear not to be a common name pre Islam in Arabia because all the modern meanings point back to her name

Based on your post I quoted, you clearly don’t know what you are talking about

Someone else in the thread said Catholicism was influential in Islam. I need consistency in here guys.

Ok your answer is that the Angel in the Torah which Elohim states will follow you and be in control of pardoning your transgressions doesn't matter. That's just not how the Torah works. We are called to believe the scripture and EVERYTHINGG in it. All scripture is Elohim breathed and good for reproof in doctrine.

Also I did not receive a response or rebuttal to the actual interpretation of Isaiah 43:11. If this is your lynchpin to anti messianic doctrine, it fails and is crucially flawed.

What should follow then is a repudiation of the condemnation in Messiah belief. You may continue yourself to do so, but based on what you have posted and the lack of interpretation to what was posted in Messiah's defense, respectfully, your position must now be considered a non biblical preference.

I don’t know if you are going to get anything consistent here if the Quran is your background. That book was not written by the same biblical prophets that we are used to. So the idea that they explain the same thing will always be assumptive

Respectfully

The bible aint nothing but The Iliad with more dialog :francis:
Not even close

The Iliad without the Aethiopica to complete its narrative is just a story of what happens to nations who’s beliefs amount to witchcraft(similar to chaoskampf which is endless destruction)

I got you on this, but give me a moment. In reality, Islam is a radical denomination of Christianity.

This is your answer to all that I posted? :scust::snoop:

Yea I see that “messiah” you hold onto as clearly being a snare. I didn’t say the angel didn’t matter. I said who SPECIFICALLY the angel was didn’t matter. And that’s clear when the angel(s) skip out on identifying exactly who they are. And the “follow the angel” command is not a command for YOU either but for the people at that specific time to do as they were being led out of their captivity and into their land. To take that and assume you have to go on a treasure hunt to find out exactly who that was is your choice. But it’s not your responsibility. Nowhere in the Torah does it command you to hold an angel in the high regard you do Jesus but I guess because the Most High used an angel (who wouldn’t even give his name) you think you should? That’s on you but let’s not pretend as if that’s supported

And I also did give an answer to Isaiah 43:11. I said there’s a difference between someone delivering or saving you from a situation and calling someone the savior of the whole world. I even brought up someone resuscitating a child and how you wouldn’t allow that child to call that someone his savior yet you think going thru the Bible and calling people or angels saviors is okay? I get this is a touchy conversation but what does it mean when you tap out of someone civilly rebutting your belief system in a Bible discussion thread?

It’s in the Bible but the Bible is a collection of texts. Meaning they weren’t all delivered as one package. And refuting the gospels while listening to kohaleth (Ecclesiastes) aka extra proverbs is crazy

That book creates more atheists than believers and there is no spirit in it but despair and abjection
