Ecclesiastes is apocryphal though, but the understanding of dwelling on the scriptures is still valid. But I do not follow Ecclesiastes for many reasons I’ve posted here before. It is heathen logic by heathens for heathen
You sure you’re not confusing Ecclesiastes with ECCLESIASTICUS? Ecclesiastes is in the Bible while the other is in the apocrypha. But even if we attribute both to being apocrypha, here’s how I judge what I read:
Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
I don’t think there’s anything off base in Ecclesiastes to toss it out. But if there is, it’s not with the verse I brought. Nowhere is there a responsibility put on anyone to understand prophecy or even history. The responsibility is always to simply obey the Creator.
