I guess I killed the thread by shutting down the usual militant griping.

This is actually important and a much cleaner pot of $ than the PPP stuff all the scammers went after.

so… let me add some tips as someone who has won one of these contracts before..

1) all you have to do is be on the game. Start a business and get setup as a minority business enterprise. Register with as many entities as possible that can vouch for you; State, county, city, etc.

2) monitor findrfp.com and any other online marketplaces in your state. In Maryland we have emarketplace. They will start posting contracts that’s are out for bid. That’s where a large chuck of this infrastructure money will end up.

3) start networking. contact the people who are marketing the contracts and let them know you are a minority vendor looking to team with a larger contractor. Contact the people who you’re competing with for work. You’d be amazed at how much stronger your bid is as a group. And 50% of 100 is better than 100% of 0.

that’s all you really need to do to get started. If you’re in the contractor pool the work will find you. Setup a company that does logistics, or something very broad. Then you can swoop in and win government contracts. The government will hire anyone to o do anything. Experience and connections are less important than being present and having your paperwork correct.

Man this is great advice. Lemme ask you this. When you say register with the state, county and city, expound on that.

The US infrastructure is literally crumbling. This will create jobs, contracts and other opportunities this is literally about as tangible as it gets.
In the long run yes but is any of that going to happen in the next 12 months to keep the Republicans from regaining control of congress? It takes decades to build some infrastructure like bridges and airports, for roads and stuff they probably going to need time to plan things out ,and there's covid around to delay things and manufacturing shortages , etc.

Please refute what I said if you disagree.

I can't say and really none of can in that sense, but what makes you think Republicans are necessarily going to gain back all the ground they lost over the past couple of years in the midterms?

And a certain percentage of contracts have to go to minority businesses :ehh:

1 trillion is NOT enough to do shyt to repair the infrastructure. I saw a study that put the estimate at 10.

Unless the 3.5 trillion bill passes this is:trash:

Word and this is over 10 years too if I remember right. These fakkit ass democrats always want applause for doing the bare minimum.

Man this is great advice. Lemme ask you this. When you say register with the state, county and city, expound on that.

you want to register in every supplier database that’s out there. Just google supplier diversity and the name of your city.

then zoom out and hit the state and county levels.

For example:

if you google ‘Philadelphia diversity supplier’ it will take you to the city of Philly page where you can register as a minority vendor.

And they’ll direct you to a bunch of other agencies that can help.

The big ones to hit that exist in almost every area:
Public transit (wmata/septa/mta)
Airports
Casinos
Stadiums
Schools
Park service

All of these entities use contracting for supplies and services. Which means they bid on everything from landscaping to paper plates for their cafeterias.
