it doesnt have to be a perfect fit. they can buy for the first party franchises and kinect patents without using the operating system or branding. amazon's cloud is more developed than microsoft's, so they can more fully move to whatever DRM/cloud assisted processing vision ms had before they were forced to lean back after e3.

That quote was taken way out of context. The original article said that they don't see MS spinning off Bing and Xbox since they are part of Microsofts long term strategy but if Satya Nadella wants to spin off a company then Bill gates won't be opposed. Meech and HHLF can rest easy.
