wow. 10 years to the day we released "Getback" officially to the world. our third studio album. in celebration, 10 facts about this album:
1. we had a good part of the album finished before asking for our release from Atlantic Records. since we always recorded at our studio, we left with the masters to this album and was able to release it independently.
2. even though we started recording while on Atlantic, @phontigallo and I A&R'ed this album from the get go. (we actually A&R'ed all of our albums)
3. after getting Lil Wayne's number from @mick, I called him while he was on tour and asked about doing a verse for the album. he told me send him the joint. less than a week later, I had all the files in my email. and this when Wayne was running this rap shyt. always have my respect for that.
4. @illmindproducer (Illmind) produced 4 of the 11 tracks on the album while @khrysis_ produced 2 plus a bonus. they essentially were the backbone sonically for this album.
5. the cover was a homage to Mobb Deep's " The Infamous" cover.
6. we wanted to get @therealbigboi on "Two-Step Blues" but the price tag for the verse was too high for the budget, and rightfully so, he is a legend.
7. "When Everything Is New" was originally supposed to be a Tay (Phonte) solo joint for a @zo3hree5ive album. after he let me hear it I told him tell Zo we needed something like that for "Getback." next thing I know, a restructured version of the joint was sent to me and Zo gave his joint to us for our album.
8. Tay and I probably recorded about 40-50% of this album separately. Tay didn't start studio sessions till around midnight, I was usually in the club by then so I came in early and got my work in.
9. I originally didn't want to rock to what became "Good Clothes." Tay let me hear his idea so I decided to give it a go. turned out to be a dope and fun record.
10. this is my favorite LB album.

Everyone knows my LB and Justus League fandom though
