Bruce Lee would whoop Mike Tyson in a streetfight

I'm a Bruce Lee stan but uh.......... yeah about that.

FWIW, I don't think its absolute either way. If its a streetfight, no prep time, no knowledge of the other person's abilities, I suppose anything can happen. As they size each other up, I think they'll both pick up immediately that the person they're fighting ain't no regular joe.

Oh and :sas2:

Interesting. you're saying it doesn't exist at all? Or is it just overstated?

I'm inclined to believe the latter.

I'm not convinced that it doesn't exist, necessarily. Rather, it's impossible to detect and random clustering is usually a better, more accurate explanation.

The basic idea of momentum is that past/recent events can and do effect the future/immediately proceeding events....a concept I consider entirely bunk.

1) NO...

2) You have OBVIOUSLY not grown in a soccer playing country...The many ways you can play soccer are SIGNIFICANTLY more variable than basketball...You don't even need a football made in China...

People in Africa just role bunch of old t-shirts in a grocery bag, tie it with some rope et voila, they are on streets playing football...

3) Basketball is EXCLUSIVELY for tall people...The average Human Being has NO realistic chance of being a great basketball player at the highest level...

A young boy may grow up idolizing LeBron James, but eventually that boy turns 16 and realizes that the tallest he will ever be is maybe 5'10"...But young boys see a 5'5" or even shorter Messi DOMINATING, and it inspires them to continue loving the game...

4) In Conclusion, Basketball will NEVER be more popular than Soccer in our lifetime...Anybody can play soccer, basketball is for tall people...Therefore, the majority of people in the world are genetically excluded from ever being great ball players at the highest level...

Also, it takes MORE skills to play soccer than to play basketball...Human hands are DESIGNED to do what basketball players do with the ball...Our feet aren't...What soccer players do with the ball is "UNNATURAL"...Our feet are not designed for that level of dexterity...

No athletic sport will EVER be more popular than soccer in our lifetime, unless it is just another derivative of soccer...

I dig your post... But the fact of matter is that the most physically gifted don't play soccer in the states.. You can say you don't need these attributes now, but when the Gronk, Moss, Megatron, Bron, Tmac types start playing at a young age, that shyt is gonna drastically shift

NFL QB position would already be DOMINATED by the "most physically gifted"

I stopped reading right there... See, at one point in time, the QB position was always played by the most physically gifted...... and on top of that, the most physically gifted on the team was the most celebrated until........................

Integration......

When it became glaringly obvious that :mjpls: was no longer the stud on the team, not only did the rules change, but the narrative to be considered good did as well...

It happened in basketball.... being able to dunk was considered having a lack of skill.....:mjlol:

I feel ya post man.. I really do.. but I've seen, and read about this narrative... and when a certain group is given free entrance into said "sport"(keyword is free) the narrative always gets turned on its ear..
