I heard the jay and fat joe phone call during the blackout. I had access to my battery radio, they were taking greasy about their basketball teams. I didn’t really think much of it at the moment.
Someone mention 50 kicking out Game. That was a really interesting day for NY radio. I think game was on power 105 first saying he was done with G-Unit and then 50 went to hot 97 and said he’s done with game and then 50 people’s shot someone in game’s crew for them coming up to the station to confront 50.

You talking to me with that? On the surface the media was instigating that shyt.. real ones know it was other shyt behind the scenes fueling it but for public consumption hot 97 was knee deep in the bullshyt…

Right because black men are just mindless violent animals whose buttons can easily be controlled by “the media”. Nah. What really happened is that hip hop “evolved” to where criminal types started becoming part of the music and brought their mentalities with it. There had been rap beefs before but they stayed on wax. All the East vs West stuff happened when rappers were trying to out gangsta each other when that hadn’t previously been a dominant part of the genre. I was there too and the artists instigated this more than anybody....Media just was doing their jobs...wasn't no twitter and IG back then, so they were just covering shyt as it went down.

This shyt up there with Suge allegedly having posters done up with him and Misa Hylton and Pac/Faith with “NYC can’t even take care of their own” as a caption. And guess what? For everyone who said they seen them, it’s a million mf’s who haven’t. This shyt is damn near 30 years old. There’s much more concerning stuff than this old ass BS
