And I think that's why the media may seem to be souring on Wiggins. Those internal situations will effect his development.

I also think the worst thing for him is to be out of the spotlight.

He just wants to be liked, be comfortable, play some basketball, and be happy. He's not going to force himself to be better than everyone else. That scared me when we drafted him.

The jockeying for PT will only affect Muhammad which clearly I have major issues with but that's another story.

If he just wants to play ball and fit in, fine. Not everyone is built to lead or be that franchise guy and that's ok. That shoulda been realized when Wiggins went to Kansas under Bill Self but I digress. (in Flip's world LaVine becomes all of that-- thus my continued disgust towards the front office.)

I only expect a modest season out of Wiggins at least initially. The more he gets asked to do short term, the worse they'll be. The smart thing to do is to let Ricky lead while everyone follows, but with 2 years left here he may not get that free reign again.

My brother's keeper
wiggins at best will be like iggy without a j.

strong wing defender, powerful dunker, borderline all star.
At best?

I'm not on the future HOFer bandwandwagon, but Iggy without a j is Iggy lol.

I think Wiggins can get to atleast a better Deng level.

Even if you guys didn't get Bron, Wiggins would of been perfect fit on the Cavs.
He'll defend the opposing teams best wing, while Waiters and Kyrie's shooting wolf of gave him space to attack the basket.

Simmons (and everyone else for that matter) soured on Wiggins as soon as the trade happened. Writers went from fapping to his summer league games to forgetting he exists, all because he got dealt to the team the press can't stand.

Why would anyone hate the t wolves? They're as non descript a franchise as there is in sports next to Jacksonville

@jaguar paw is there any word if/how the Cavs would have made the move for Love had they drafted Embiid?

Let's say Embiid was 100 percent healthy going into the draft.

No way they make that trade. (Embiid/Bennett for Love)

I'll even go as far as saying that LeBron would have returned to the Heat for one more year had Embiid been drafted.

Wiggins being drafted accelerated the chances of LeBron returning earlier than expected.

Love would not be a Cavalier now....or even next summer.

i dont think theres anyway love would agree to resign in cleveland if lebron wasnt there making the deal to trade embiid pretty nonsensical

So basically Bron would have given Embiid a year to prove what he can do.

It's not about the franchise (though Simmons personally doesn't like them). It's about avoiding that city in the dead of winter if you can. If they're good you can't really do that.

Yeah and I don't think the sense of urgency would have been there had it been anyone other than Wiggins.

I just can't see him wanting Wiggins to get settled at all as a Cavalier.

That was LeBron's spot.

I don't care if the Cavs tried to sell Wiggins as a 2 guard. Wiggins was going to be traded the moment Embiid discovered that foot injury. We kind of spoke about all that the night of the draft.

It just so happened to be that Flip loved Wiggins and everyone in the organization wanted Love. Even prior to LeBron returning.

It would have been really botched because the Cavs were very serious about Chandler Parsons.

They would've had to move some contracts next summer to even make LeBron an offer.
