Well maybe putting more money into education and not leaving private corporations control media would help that people get information. But that would be called communism by some of y'all :dead:
communism would be state-controlled media

State-controlled media has existed everywhere since the beginning of media. Most TVs started as state-controlled, just like any other new technology. Now most developped countries have a mix of both : state-controlled as a public service (as in : informing citizens) and private-owned.

The BBC operates under agreement/control of the British government, but it doesn't look communist to me.

Did you see what just came out about the BBC?

Technology and innovation is spurred by capitalist-based incentive

Socialism is great, when implemented correctly.
I don't think that can really be argued with.
What is better than things like "publicly funded roads," "a well maintained public education system through college," "strong public healthcare," and "housing for all citizens."

You could always actually reply with why I'm wrong. I personally am a fan of continued growth and closing the massive gap between the hyperwealthy and the impoverished, especially if it means greater public development, a healthier and high-educated population, and a far more well-maintained infrastructure system that helps support the population.
Nothing better than speeding up medical and scientific advancements, allowing a more robust economy, and helping slowdown unnecessary death and destruction.

I understand you want utopia. It just isn't going to happen like that. Nothing is for free and you have to take from someone else to pay for all of that. Stealing is still stealing even if it's for the greater good

No one said anything about a "utopia," I simply described how a country should properly run, something that is not at all impossible,
You're under the belief that taxation is theft.
It's great that you're consistent.
That being said, taxation and proper allocation of capital is not "stealing," and it acts both in the individual's interest as well as the interest of the greater good.
Do you like using things like public roads? The see of proportional tax dollars, allows that to happen. Again, greater public education and health systems alongside well-maintained infrastructure systems mean that the economy fares better, the system itself flows much more fluidly, crime rates go down, and in the neoliberal idea things like property values and the like stabilise and rise.
I'm not the biggest fan of hybrid systems, but what I am a fan of are things being done correctly, and Socialism provides this.

Even further you could argue that government's response to coming up with antibiotics is a huge problem because theres no incentive to make them financially and governments drag their feet on getting shyt done on such a needed scale.

Antibiotics have already proven to be a great detriment to the strength of our natural immune systems

There's a medical industrial complex and the pharmaceutical companies and medical industry have no incentive to make you a person with a sufficient and reliable immune system

You wanting the government to provide free college requires them to tax me more. Them taxing me more is by force. It's not opt-in. If I refuse they will literally send people with guns to my house to ensure that I pay for the things you want for free.

I have nothing against socialism but don't force it upon me. You sign up for it. You pay into the programs and when your system fails don't come to me for a bailout

Also who is the one who decides what is "the greater good"?
