Damn, this takes me alllll the fukk the way back. Myspace being blocked because if enough people were on it, it absolutely put a strain on university internet. This was way before wifi on phones.
A third party service will be used to verify that you're 18+, the porn site doesn't even need to ever have your personal info.

I just did some googles and it appears pornhub in Louisiana is using something through the state, I have my doubts all porn sites will unless the state is offering that service for free. pornhub obviously can afford the most legit services since they are the most popular porno site.
the way the law is written it doesn't say it has to be through that service, it should have to be, I wouldn't trust anyone else.

I agree that there should be a standardized means of id verification across the board.
tbf I was googling naked WWF Divas when I was around 9 or 10 years old, not 5 but still far too young. That probably didn't do that much damage, but the kids that age today have access to hardcore porn in 4K.
parents cannot monitor their children 24/7 and kids have a way of figuring their way around parental controls. I know I did. I don't think it's doing any harm if the state is trying to have the barriers there as long as the verification system is legit. like i said, i wouldn't be trusting XXX HAMSTER or some shady ass third party service they contract with with my identification, but if it is something through the state or service that is truly reputable, I don't have an issue with the law existing.
