maybe the reason that they’re saying the nba is woke us because of what happened in the 2020 bubble playoffs( BLM logos on the courts, players wearing BLM shirts, players kneeling during the signing of the national anthem)

They also can’t believe that nba teams and players have the gall to refuse White House invitations from trump after they win NBA championships. In their eyes it’s the supreme insult. How can these ungrateful blacks refuse to visit the White House and meet our guy?
20-25 years ago, back in the early 2000s, they hated the product/league because it was too thuggish in their eyes apparently . They felt that Iverson, Kobe, ron artest etc were thugs who weren’t proper role models for kids. And they used the malice at the palace incident in bad faith to justify their racist feelings/narratives.
And in the 1960s/1970s they hated the league because the player demographics were dominated by black athletes , the players were apparently undisciplined, militant, addicted to drugs, lazy, uppity, selfish and overpaid
We all know the true reason why the

Many among them watch college basketball instead because there are much more white players than in the NBA. It’s not like they hate the sport of basketball at it is. They are just desperate for white figures/saviors to cheer on. They want to see less Coach Carter and more Hoosiers.
They will always continue to hate out of pure spite the best professional basketball league on earth, until it’s full of American born and raised white boys with extreme conservative/MAGA leanings. They want to see players that look and think like them on the courts. They just can’t relate to most NBA players, even the white ones. They can’t even enjoy to support the few white American NBA players out there because they suspect them to be sympathetic to the struggle of American black folks and by extension, also sympathetic to most liberal/progressive/democratic/anti-racist causes by extending. I mean, it makes sense as white players in the nba are much less maga/republican than average. But in the other sports leagues, (nhl, mlb, nfl, college football/basketball/baseball/hockey, golf, nascar, etc) I expect many if not most white athletes to have strong cultural/political/social sympathies and affinities for maga/gop
