This. Shump came back in February and it took this long to resemble how he was last year. And he doesn't even get a lot of minutes at that. Plus he mostly plays off the ball. Shump does a fraction of what Rose does on the court and it still took shump a ton of time. nikkas don't get it but I respect rose sitting out.

Gil was NEVER a top 5 player. He was always an overpaid chucker. Rose in his short itme in the NBA is already better than Gil ever was.

Even if I agree with some of what Simmons wrote, Rose is STILL gonna have doubts & uncertainty until he plays on it in a game situation. That fear & doubt isn't gonna go away just b/c he sits out.

The more I think about it, the more I think this shyt is just like the Redskins. & RG3. Instead of the organization doing the right thing & shutting the player down, they let the player decide how he wants to handle it & it backfires. CHI shouldn't even allow Rose on the bench if there is this much uncertainty with Rose & his knee.

Rose, adidas, The Bulls FO & Reggie Rose blew this situation as bad as you possibly can.

Bill has a good point. If he comes back and is not the same then they will say he is finished. This is his career, and though I would like to see him back I don't want him to end up like Penny Gilbert or Grant.

I agree with you, no doubt. My only argument is with Rose's game requiring extreme level of athleticism and ball handling it would be better served for him to do summer workouts, training camp and preseason.

People want everything right now but it's worth Rose coming back when he is ready. That last thing you want is for him to get hurt again, or worse.

Gilly averaged 29.3 points on a playoff team that had 3 20point scorers. while shooting 45%. Dude had more game winners in that 3yr span than anyone in the league. NO ONE IN THE LEAGUE could stop Gilbert Arenas. Nobody. Now i don't know what you were watching around 2004-2007 but gilbert arenas was elite.....call it what you want.

the playoffs aren't the place to "ease your way back in" after a serious injury like an acl.

he should come back next year and "ease his way back in" so he'll be back to or close to back to form by all-star break.
