:ohhh:

but honestly as a producer and talent discoverer; Bill Simmons is top notch. Dude was garbage on ESPN too for the guy who mentioned the ESPN machine. His bread and butter is writing, producing, and finding talent.

his pride won't let the tv thing go :russ: though I think he could be ok if he had someone to kinda carry him :wow:

:manny: just starting breh, getting some help of some coli posters and some other people to help build the brand. We will get better trust. If you feel you may have something to contribute yourself get at me:salute:
I was joking mainly fam. I just don't like everytime I see you post its about the site. I'm sure you do more its just annoying for me when that's all I see. That's what I have to contribute outside of that wish you and anybody else trying to do your thing the best

He knows he's shytty on TV and he don't give a fukk. He's said that a few years back.

His podcast network is the shyt though. Keeping it 1600, The Watch, Shakhouse (I don't even watch golf and I listen to this shyt)

Keeping it 1600 is :wow: might be one of my favorite podcast out right now

If you needed any further evidence that Charlamagne is a c00n and Uncle Tom, here you go.

:dwillhuh: Bill Simmons has never said anything outta line ....now that gay hollywood guy that was at Grantland (forgot his name but he was on a Simmons pod kinda recently) is kinda :patrice: he always seems annoyed about any racial issues but was all worked up over Rondo calling that nba ref a fakkit :pachaha:

he wasnt a great writer by any stretch, though at his best he could pen great pieces.

simmons worked for so long because he spoke with a style and voice that resonated with a shytload of people. whether u agreed or disagreed with what he said (never make another hip-hop mount rushmore, bill simmons), he was able to convey his points in a manner that worked for sports fans and (more importantly) casual fans that could be converted into bill simmons fans.

saying it was only for middle class white boys is bullshyt. that might be who it's for now. but at his peak the numbers say damn near everyone in a certain age demo was reading simmons. that's why he got grantland, and that's why he has an HBO show. it sure as shyt wasnt because of his work on NBA on ESPN.

Hmmmm in his early days when he was doing page 2 or whatever it was called, wasn't his content mostly boston stan "every day guy" shyt? And not in a black barbershop kind of way, I remember that shyt being very CAC-centric

I turned his show on last night for a few minutes and my wife was in the other room and comes in and says "What is wrong with his voice? What are you watching?" :dahell:

Dude is so bad on TV... Completely uptight and unnatural.. With a Hilary Clinton level of annoying vocal tone and delivery...

At one point he said "It's lit!!" and it came off as so cringe worthy.. You can clearly tell that someone 20 years younger than him had written it..

He was able to capitalize on referencing sports to movie quotes/tv shows/characters etc...which is what a lot of us grew up doing to begin with.

Only seen a couple of youtube clips of his show, have no desire on watching it tbh. Maybe it will get better once US sports season really begins though, there's not a lot going on right now..

But Bill gets too stuck on his own bubble, I mean it's fine he's still a fan of The Challenge but having Johnny Bananas as the guest for his podcast is :mindblown: :what: who the fukk want's to hear that shyt?

And I agree he's becoming the old guy that surrounds himself with young people to stay hip and fails when he tries to talk like them. But shyt, as long as The Ringer gets better and the podcasts keep coming he can do whatever the fukk he wants :manny:
