I remember I was helping to set up a little show at Howard in Blackburn center years ago and as we moved the piano I just started playing the song and everyone spontaneously bursted out into song. shyt like that is why I truly love being and living in the Black experience.

A while back "Ain't no sunshine" was voted greatest song on some UK list.
I watched the same documentary (predated Netflix didn't it?) and went out and bought some of his CDs. Dude came up the right way, don't live off handouts for the music YOU created, own your own shyt. A lot of acts from that era figured out you can't trust the industry.
Classic legendary act who a lot of people "forgot" about. Sad he died during Corona and won't get the tributes he deserves.
