Billboard is byke - Top 50 Rap Groups, update: Top 10 is in

I already knew Outkast would be #1 when this list was announced, these white publications love them. Kast is a top 10 group but they're not #1 and there shouldn't be that big of a gap between them and Mobb Deep on this list either. Both groups have two classics and one other really good album on their resume.

I know theres not that many female rap groups but if they needed another group besides Salt n Pepa on there they could have put Deadly Venoms instead of the fukkin City Girls. G-unit is not a top 20 group and definitely not above UGK, Bone or Lox. Migos is too high.

And where is Heltah Skeltah, Lost Boyz, Dead Prez, Black Moon, Smif n Wessun and Beatnuts. List is trash.

yall trippin, migos should not be ahead of mobb, bone, or epmd - but those 3 should be in the top 10 by removing roots, snp, and eric b and rakim (a MC with their DJ aint really a group IMO)...you might can put 3-4 other groups before them, but they are a top 15 group and have surpassed many of the people yall wanna give 90s/00's noatalgia stimmies to

OutKast at #1 isn't wild though. There isn't a Hip Hop group who can claim that every album was platinum. All of those albums are critically acclaimed (even though I don't think too highly of Idlewild). They reached heights that none of the other groups have. Kast came out in 1994 and were still going strong in 2004. They arguably elevated with each album except Idlewild. They have classic songs and albums. Some of them iconic even. They only box they don't check is that they are the least influential of the Top 6 groups.

Like I said, any of the Top 6 could claim GOAT.

I don’t think Migos should be #11, but strictly on hits and longevity, you could make a case for them to be pretty high up there. They also may have had like 2 different resurgences when people thought they fell off.

You can’t be serious with this. They are unbelievably influential to the point where people aren’t even sampling them, they’re just lifting entire songs. 2005 is when YOU started paying attention to them.

G-Unit shouldn’t be that high unless you’re including mixtapes and pure influence, and that still me be a stretch. Same with Dipset, and I’m a huge fan of their’s.

Musically, I would say Kast definitely influenced Kendrick and Wayne with the voices and what not. Then there's the whole being an alien thing. They definitely have influence, but other groups are just more influential even groups that are ranked much lower than them.

SV and Ball and G both pioneered movements.

Ball and G is definitely top 10 . And a group with the Goat Producer is always in the mix. Fantastic Vol. 2 is righ there or better than the majority of cats is posting in here.


Heiro should count as a crew and not a group, either way Souls is top 10 as group and Heiro top 3 as a crew, debatable #1. They set off a lot shyt with the technical rhyming/verse formatting
