Hearing the dude talk in interviews over the years, he clearly was a dude that enjoyed the work and hustle. He has more money that he ever dreamed of having and he's feeling dissatisfied with the 'typical' billionaire lifestyle. Maybe he'll find a charitable endeavor, maybe he gives a lot of it away and starts over. But the words of the immortal Biggie ring true, 'Mo' money mo' problems.

But this dude earned that Payout... He worked for that... :dahell:
And now he has nothing to strive for. He has no reason to push himself or be innovative. The creativity, challenges of development, innovation and exchange of ideas, competition, adaptability is gone for someone who clearly thrived and excelled on that has to leave a big void.

And humans quickly adapt to a new norm. The excitement from wealth has dulled yet the desire to do better and more is gone.

He's not from money so he doesn't even have a cohort to relate to. His old peers have completely different lives; goals, lifestyles, schedules, outlooks.
If he doesn't find something he could end up like some of those lottery winners, or the founder of Victoria's Secret.

Really?

Sounds like mo money no problems and that's the extent of his dissatisfaction

Some people need that adversity to give their efforts meaning I understand that

And I take everything back about what I said about dudes lifestyle. Just saw the video on this house :banderas:

Why is that gone though?

If that's your true motivation then money can't be your end goal. There are ALWAYS problems and challenges to solve.

No good deed goes unpunished. fukk their ungrateful asses...pissed at him because he wanted to move on with his life (although his focus was making sure THEY were okay).

I don't really get the hate either.

It looks like he put in most of the work too so imo he deserves whatever he sees fi

Everyone fights to get to the top only to realize there's nothing there.

When you got a billion dollars and all you want is a normal life, to be able to create and hustle without worrying about losing a billion dollars, who's your real friends, if your girl loves you or your money, If you can trust family....

That sucks.

Peace of mind with no peace of mind.

There are only a handful of people that can actually relate to what he's going through.

Was going to post this. He also said that part of the deal with Microsoft was that they couldn't come in and just lay people off. Like Microsoft has done with other game studios .

People who don't know. The game was already successful before he started the company. It was already selling itself. The core components/design that made the game great he did in his bedroom.

The company really hired more people to work on another game called Scrolls. Which did no where near what MC did.

He did. Minecraft runs on a custom 3D engine which took him 6 months to program. Just look up Notch tumblr. Everything was done by him. More programmers basically came on to do the Modding API and the mobile version.

It's not like he can't live life as a normal person though

The way I see it he's got the best of both worlds, he's rich, not just assets but liquid money, it's different

Ad he's not a celebrity so it's not like people are lookin for him. He could theoretically live in any society he wants

Pretty much, and most people have no idea the kind of sharks that come around once you have that sort of money.

He can't just move to some normal neighborhood because he'll be hounded and bothered all day or possibly even kidnapped and extorted.

He has tons of jealousy and envy from friends who now view him as an 'outsider' because he's not giving them hand-outs. Family probably ended up stopped working and believing he owes it to them to live a stress free life. Every move being hyperscrutinized. Scandalous women trying to set him up to get a pay-out and gangster types could try to extort him.

Also, he has no one to talk to, because they'll automatically say something like, "You got all that money... how bad could life really be?"

I honestly think it's better to have 2 or 3 million and be unknown than having a billion and have everyone know you. There's a LOT that comes with having money and people knowing you have it.

I don't know if you knew this but lottery money is essentially public money so your name is, quite literally, plastered everywhere so people can know who you are. You won't have that provacy, unless you move to a different country or something

I think you'd have to go out of your way to find out whether or not someone won the lottery. For example. I don't live in florida but I know a shyt-ton of people win the lottery from that state. As long as its not some "record breaking" lottery amount, word won't spread that far unless you're deeply invested in the "goings ons" of the lottery community.

For example. I don't live in the same state that my parents do. In this state there are some lottery games that are only played here. Even if someone from my home state of California followed the lottery closely, why would they care to check if someone won some lottery that is only available in a handfull of states and not their own.

Currently the powerball is at $120million. Thats a hell of a lot of money, but its not a record breaking amount by any stretch of the imagination. If someone that follows or plays the lottery found out that someone won that lottery, (and they live in another state) they'd probably just mumble "fukk" under their breath and move on. Also, its very rare for someone to instantly go and pick up their check so in the two weeks or month or so that is takes for that person to pick up their check everyone would have forgotten that they even won.

Another thing you could do (if you were extremely paranoid) is hire a lawyer to pick up the check and have them cash it under the name of a business so the name of your company (fluff-ball incorporated or whatever) is used instead of your real name. So, yeah i'd say its pretty easy to formulate an "escape plan" to avoid people once the discovery of your winnings are made public.
