i keep hopping the fence between calling it great and really good

excellent: atmosphere, storyline, acting
great: replayability (trying out different, vigors, weapons)
average at best: combat (repetitive as fukk, being stuck in endless rooms of enemies)

glad i gave it a try and played through it twice. def not a 10/10 classic like some sites and reviews have been giving it

Bioshock Infinite is one of the GOATS and here is why i say that:

Social Commentary in the game was amazing.

when you get to the Fink Manufacturing and hear the propaganda over the sound system, see it in the films playing and see workers competing
for jobs by bidding lower and lower wages and promising more production, i just stopped and watched it play out like :ohhh:
there is a company store were employees buy the products that they manufacture therefore setting up an indentured service sort of deal that is really no better than slavery.

it's very much like the story of George Pullman, if you are into history at all, i suggest that you check this brief summary on Wiki and then re-examine the Fink story line in Bioshock Infinite.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Pullman

the Vox Populi labor movement was a cool story arch and reminded me of the Labor/Union movement in the late 19th and early 20th century in our world.

the way the the founding fathers were elevated to almost God like status and Comstock practically made a religion around them made me think about the Tea party for some reason.

the blatant prejudice expressed by the people was so raw and unfiltered.
it's something that is taboo in the gaming world but Bioshock dived into it unapologetically and you gotta respect that.

walking down the beach and hearing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...i was :dwillhuh: then :skip:then :russ: .
easily one of my favorite and most unexpected gaming experiences last year.

i thought the shooting mechanics were just fine and this is coming from someone who has been playing PC shooters for more than 15 years.

the environment was stunning, if you didn't stop and :mindblown: when you got to Columbia then i don't know what to say, that place is gorgeous.

the whole parallel universe spin opens up so many doors down the line to make sequels in endless environments and times is :banderas:.

that's my Bioshock Infinite rant.

Gang violence...
incredibly overrated game. shooting is boring, vigors are pretty redundant. pales in comparison to the genius of the first game. i preordered the DLC but cant even force myself to play it.

that being said, the production values are top notch.

this is a damn good game...it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread like some claimed, but it is a damn good game...the story and graphics are top notch...the only issue i had with the game is it didnt play anything like the clips they showed at e3 when they first announced the game...

exs: look at the way you get the crow vigor in the clip compared to how you get it in the game; the scene when elisabeth opens the tear to paris and has to close it before the car comes, doesnt happen; the walking into the bar having to fight your way out, doesnt happen; the scene where elisabeth helps you combine powers to defeat enemies in the middle of the street, doesnt happen....

Bioshock Infinte looks spectacular at first and it was looking presentation wise to be heralded as a classic....up until you start shooting. :gag:. If a game is going to be a fps, shooting needs to be actually "fun" at least. I would love if Infinite's gameplay was more like Halo or any other competent shooter.
My nikka, why do you preach the truth every time you post? This 100x. The actual gun play in Infinite is weak. Gameplay is nothing to write home about in the slightest. And it really bugs me how much people overhyped the ending like it was really some super dope shyt. Cmon son.

I wouldn't even say its defininitely worth playing. I felt more disappointed in how unfilling it was. I'd say that if its free on PS+ and you aint got shyt else to play, fukk it.

Overated. Most of the vigors were useless and there are only a few types of reskinned enemies.
breh that's like complaining that scarlett johanson has pointy elbows. Bioshock Infinite is a work of art. Beautiful game, some of the best Art Direction I've seen. Fantastic crazy sci-fi story.. Best single player game I've played in the past 8 years other than the last of us

To be fair though playing Bioshock Infinite in 1999 mode forces you to play it with more strategy but even then the gameplay is subpar. The ending had me like :dwillhuh:. I didn't care to google it to understand it more.

agree with most of this

still the gameplay was just

Jay-Z-so-so.gif

ending cutscenes were epic, but the final "boss" battle was horrible now that i think of it
