Mac walters, the cowriter of the first 2 mass effects and the primary writer of part 3, probably should have threw a bag of money at the dude he cowrote the first 2 games with.

Feeling insecure about the reception of part 3 he became director, and left the writing in the hands of 3 no names, who basically created a safe game.

The credentials of ol boy who cowrote the first 2 mass effects is pretty thorough.

Are you saying he knew the direction they were going to go and tried to distance himself from it by becoming a director?

The biggest problem with 3 was the ending. If they got it right, the ME franchise wouldn't be in the state that it is right now.
I'm saying that they could never have gotten the ending of ME3 correct because they didn't even write the story of ME2 & ME3 when they started. They were making shyt up as they go

No, drew started working on star wars the old republic because he also worked on knights of the old republic. He didn't have time to work on ME3. After that he went back to writing books.

He like mac didn't know what direction the story would go to but they wrote some possibilities like the dark energy storyline but that never went through

They gutted a significant (& talented) portion of the Bioware team to work on Star Wars while leaving the less capable members to produce a AAA title. Consequently, we get a flawed but enjoyable game in return.
I watch a video about how a bunch of the people working on Andromeda were working on their first video game :baldD:

It goes back to what I said. EA literally give one of their most well received franchises to a small studio that was only made to work on DLC.

IDK, I felt 3 was a cash grab in so many areas. The handling of the Reaper war was pretty terrible and mostly on the sideline for 90% of the game and no space battles. Just lazy horde mode bullshyt in the game. Story gets criticize, but the lazy level design, terrible new characters, bleh audio design, and making the game a full on ACTION game was my biggest issues.
