Half black and Puerto Rican here. Mom is black, pops is Puerto Rican. In the states people look at me as Spanish. Overseas they say I'm black. Im from Harlem and my strength is equally rooted in my make up. I feel blessed to be both, because both have gone through enough shyt to prepare me for life's ups and downs! Salute to the mutts :salute:

PR is not a race.

I don't feel any way about it.

Everybody has something to be proud of - no matter the race.
It's not a matter of pride, I'm proud to be black, and I think most black people are. But I'm saying, how does it make you feel to be able to claim whiteness to your benefit, when the vast majority of black people can't? Does it seem unfair?

Unfair? I don't think so, but I guess it depends on how you look at it.

Jamaican/AA/Rican

Rican side is darker Taino/African from my moms ancestry test so I was never really confused about shyt.

Never had a problem with my identity at all. Always considered myself black first.
:mjlol: Thats because ya ass is black. You ain't multiracial b you multicultural. Big difference.

Actually, yes. Most of the time, at least. It's great for connections.

It's rarely, if ever, beneficial to identify as Black; but sometimes a situation may call for it.
:hhh: Nah keep ya cac ass on that side:camby:

i consider myself black but many of my peers think I am mixed/bi-racial.

but sometimes i think that they really don't think that and only want to "acknowledge" or bring that up to try and circumvent my radical blackness. kinda like tryna make me feel "accepted" so they can have the perks of a black friend but without the responsibility or prevent uprising/white guilt by being nice.

long story short, i try to keep my time short with people of no color and their allies outside of business

for instance one of my associates insisted that my father was white after dropping the n word. we do not hang out any more.

How do you look at it?
I look at it in the sense that individually, everyone has their advantages and disadvantages; whether it be physically, mentally, socially, or all three.

Our existence, and the social class we were born into, is without our control. Therefore, we must make what we can out of what we were given.

why would it be unfair for him to claim what he technically is? is it "unfair" some men have better faces, are taller, bigger penises than others?
"Better" face is subjective, most people in the real world don't give a fukk about height, outside of athletics, and nobody knows your dikk size unless you pull it out

The question I'm asking him is similar to me asking a white boy if him benefiting from white supremacy is fair. Is it fair that whiteness grants you an easier time in life?
