They sold more singles now than they did then. The fact is there is no evidence that they sold 500 Million singles wither it be certifications or numbers. So unless they are saying (If you combine all the songs for all the albums we sold, and you get 500 Million songs sold) which that is B.S. too. If they got this plaque, then Dre and Puffy should of gotten their in the 90's.

Nah that's what I'm saying. In the 90's a album only had a few singles released if you were lucky you may have gotten two songs. Now since you can go to places like Amazon and purchase one or more songs from any album those are probably considered singles. I'm sure people are still buying Bad Boys catalog but it wasn't really that large to begin with and they not still getting it in. So there is evidence when you take the Hot Boyz, BG, Juvie, Wayne, Big Tymers, Drake, Tyge, Nicki etc. You are counting the biggest singles but ignoring the fact that even a intro from an album purchased may be considered a single sold. Also, if they have factored in features from artist like Wayne then it's not really a stretch at all.

Even then it's a stretch cause you assuming everyone has gone back and bought songs off those Old Cash Money albums. That Amazon "Buy every song" is still very fresh, I would say not even 5 or 6 years ago you couldn't do that. It would of been more believable if they said 100 Million songs but 500 Million? It's just not believable. Also Drake was featured on "What's my name" by Rihanna, that single sold 5 Million, that song was not released on Cash Money but it seems they are counted that as apart of their "500 Million" so they are using features.

Either way the numbers don't add up. If Lil Wayne has sold 37 Million songs just domestic including callabo's, even if he doubled that worldwide, that's 70 Million. Drake and Nicki are both new artist and haven't moved that huge. B.G. and Juvi were the only Platinum selling solo artist on Cash Money outside of Wayne. Hot Boyz and Big Tymers never moved huge units. Again I don't think some of you are understanding that 500 Million songs sold a lot. The bottom line is this. Every Certified single from all Cash Money artist is on record and it doesn't equal 500 Million.

Lil Wayne - 37 million Singles sold
Nicki - 23 Million Singles Sold
Drake - 22 Million Singles Sold

Now those are just domestic sale for all their singles including Callabos. Some of those songs weren't even released on Cash Money. Sorry, somebody lying, they ain't move no 500 Million songs worldwide.

:hmm: You know Cash Money Records has had more acts than those 3 right?

Yes, but I was only using those 3 cause they are the 3 Biggest Sellers of their entire history. Everyone else sold way less. So the Big 3 sold under 100 Million singles but I'm going to believe 400 Million more songs was sold from artist not even as popular? Juvi and B.G. went Plat but only a few of their songs sold well like "Bling, Bling and Back that Azz Up" Again numbers ain't adding up. Cash Money even with Young Money as a Label has sold less albums than Bad Boy and Death Row and even Aftermath. Yet somehow they sold 500 Million songs?, OK.

People do go back and buy old material especially since wayne blew up. I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't know older cash money material but got interested in it on the strength of him. Not to mention a new generation of fans who always go back and scoop up older material.

Amazon and i-tunes links are commonly added to lyrics websites, youtube videos and articles about artist which leads to sales as well. So someone could up an old big tymers record on youtube, someone likes the song and buys it directly from the video description on i-tunes and there you have another single sold. Cash Money also has huge social media views which is a direct way to offer digital singles to consumers.

According to RIAA.com even Birdman has gold and platinum selling singles. The young money single bedrock is multi plat, Juvenile with slow motion gold, back that azz up gold etc. All of that adds up. Plus you have DJ Khaled who has sold 12 million singles some of which have come from being signed to Cash Money over the past 2 years. If you notice DJ Khaled's albums don't sell well but the singles do. So even if a Birdman album doesn't sale well they may be a single or two that does and once you factor in all of the albums they have dropped over the years including the flops, it adds up, even if they don't get a plaque. Mystikal's first single when he got out didn't get a plaque but it may have sold like 100,000 who knows?

500 million worldwide songs isn't farfetched. They been doing it since 98. From Big Tymers to Tyga and everything in between it's very possible. Y'all are just referencing domestic numbers(United States) and not global numbers...But most of y'all were toddlers when 400 degreez came out. :manny:

Michael Jackson has sold over 750 Million Albums Worldwide including the Jackson 5, The Beatles and Elvis have sold 1 Billion Albums Worldwide. None of them have sold 500 Million songs. But I'm suppose to believe Cash Money when most of the artist they have had are not that Big globally to begin with did?, lol. Wayne only has 2 Multi-Platinum albums and that was recently, most of his LP's are Gold. They haven't moved 100 Million songs worldwide, let alone 500 Million. They lying period.
