You need start accepting that this is mostly cultural. Black africans who make it to start familites in America are usually highly educated to begin with, and therefore come to America with the mentality of "building wealth" and therefore end up marrying equally educated women. Their children as a result end up being raised with those values. Education is highest priority and they pour LOTS of money into their children's education to ensure that they aren't assed out after they finish school. They go to high quality schools and network with cacs, and therefore end up in positions where great paying jobs are accessible.

In contrast, lots of American black families are in the low income side of thing. Many just work to get by and put food on the table and thus have no means of raising children to be as educated as possible. This is why many families resort to sports as a way of escaping poverty because it requires less money since athletic scholarships get thrown at the talented kids. Besides, once the kids make it into the big leagues, they end up earning waaaaay more money than these software engineers. This means of survival has fostered a culture that doesnt put as much emphasis on higher education as other black groups (for reasons stated above). This is why you see lots of Nigerians and other "immigrants" in these STEM jobs. It is a result of culture passed down multiple generations. Very few Native Americans end up chasing Masters and PhD degrees in Math and Engineering so the lack of representation can easily look like ADOS is being deliberately cut out of the pie share.

This doesn't excuse the blatant racism and short ceiling that black people as a whole face in tech because of cac's perception of us and our intellect.

I hope this makes sense. I know thecoli will try to chop me up tho regardless :hubie:

education is not locked behind a paywall just effort. it's a culture to education that starts n fails in the house. before a kid ever gets to sit in a class, before they get to an instructor they have to be ready to learn day 1. you see kids that show up far behind their peers from day fukking 1 who can't be taught. who just pass along grade to grade. don't ever go home and do homework or have extra tutoring but the parents act surprised when they failing out barely graduating and got slim prospects in life by fukking 18.

that shyt is straight child abuse... fukk what anyone tell you.

a teacher who has 30 kids and see 1 or 2 extremely hopeless brehs in class is not taking the time out to focus on them, that's on their folks. most times people are failing up grade by grade, every year moving on with less knowledge than their peers until the summation of the worth of their knowledge is pitiful come graduation day. once they see folks sailing off to college or streamlining career pathways shyt gets real but it's too late.

the school system, society whatever ain't gonna hold the blame for your uneducated child no matter what. :yeshrug:

Class breeds culture. You were too busy trying to find fault in my point and ended up missing the whole point.

Black Africans who make it to America arent necessarily coming from wealthy families to begin with. Some do due to their parents having educational ties in the US. Many do come from poverty and have been raised to believe that the only way to a better life is to be as educated as possible. So when they do make it in America, education is all they know and that culture and belief system gets passed to their kids. They use the resources they acquired in order to make it easier for their offspring to flourish.

Thats the culture that determines representation over multiple generations.

In America, sports is BIG and very lucrative. Also there is lots of young black talent. That reason is why you will tend to see young black kids dream of being high level sports atheletes much more than scientists. Its because thats what they are exposed to more due to how popular and lucrative sports is in America. Add the poverty factor into it and how expensive education is, then you will see low representation in STEM jobs from black Americans.

Again, it is very much cultural.

It's class
How am I trying to find fault if its what you said?

You showed what you on tho
