I'm a 70s baby. You think we had it easy? The promise of the civil right movement our parents handed us ended up being dropped on our doorstep as a flawed baby full of pockmarks. We saw the strides blacks made in this country in the 70's and mid 80s virtually destroyed by crack. We saw gangs going from having one gun between 30 dudes to all 30 dudes suddenly strapped when the influx of guns poured into our community. We saw our neighborhoods turn from "communities" into "strangers" that all you 90s babies are accustomed to because it's all you know.

Meanwhile, the generation prior to the 70's slowly swallowed up everything and left us with crumbs to eat for ourselves AND pass onto you 90s babies. If anything, we have it the worst because we're the ones who look back at our parents anger being pacified by the 5 minutes whites tried to fair as they gave up the black dollar while looking ahead at the stupidity and dimwittedness of the future generation we gave birth to.

Man please....

One thing I give you 90s babies and later is that yall see through the bullshyt because it's all you know. What about us 70s babies whose parents bought into the promise of integration and fed us that BS? We bought into that promise, saw it work then taken from us by Reagan and others.

Yall have NO idea what its like to see the fight and anger our previous generation carried to get us rights and give us 70's babies a "promise" that fell short when we came into our 20s in the 90s.

I don't give a damn though....my generation produced BIG, Pac, Martin and all the things that still reverberate today. We are the 1st generation of the "post" civil rights era who saw our parents anger get pacified by a promise made to give my generation a better life than they had. We were the ones who got fooled.....yall are already awoke though. So instead of bytching at us like we were spoiled, what are YOU going to do?

If you are a black male born in the 70's you're lucky to be alive today. We were adolescents and a teenagers in the late 80's through mid-90's...murder rates were absolutely ridiculous. Chicago today ain't shyt compared to what was going on those days. Murder rate was triple what it is now. Think about it...there were less people living back then and the body count was higher than it is now.

My pops always tells me stories about shyt he went through coming up in the late 80's and early 90's. nikkas was rreally on some other shyt in the 90's when it comes to crime and violence. :mjcry:

The problem is up until that time crooks preyed on crooks for the most part. In the 80's/90's squares became hustlers and the rules of the game(s) went out the window.

Employers want a unicorn employee that doesn't exist. Plus, the external pressure from broads that want their own Tyson Beckford with street rep in Wall Street makes it hard for regular dudes.

Just keep campaigning. You'll eventually come up its inevitable.

People are hiring young black men. No one is hiring criminals.

Stupid fukk? Who's the one with the criminal record crying about not getting a job? Not I...yet you're calling me stupid. Sounds like you should be speaking to yourself...

You a damn lie. I'm a 17 Black Male with 0 criminal history and all my job applications have been denied / turned down. :camby:

90s babies are lazy drugged up pussies...they think life is about partying getting high and " turning up" all god damn day....they dont know how to hustle....making $ is easy...offer a fukking service, work really hard at that service and be polite to ur customer...its not fukking hard....u dont need a job....

like @uggymoe said...if a crack head can wake up every morning and hustle to score crack everyday u can hustle and scrap up enough to survive until u catch ur big break in life....but the problem is it requires discipline and dedication and a strong ethic......and everybody wanna be a baller like these corny ass rappers...

all 90 babies care about is popping pills, social media and chasing bytches thats getting fukked on by o;der men anyway ....young women look up to older dudes because were real men, not some skinny jeans wearing frail fakkits....btw alot older black men are suckers too...dont get it twisted...they dropped the damn ball...thats why the young gen is the way it is

True.

My dude....nail hits head.

I grew up around Brooklyn Poplockers who would say "I'm going uptown" where they learned all the latest shyt.

by 1986...those same Brokklyn poplockers saying "I'm going uptown" were going their to get that work to sell off.

That's what it was like for us 70's babies. We witnessed the dichotomy shift. We lived through that change. Nothing worse than being a kid who looked up to men and women that turned into something else by the mid 80s falling to crack and other things. It was the worst.
