Yup, previous generations fukked us. I make more bread now then I will once I have my degree tbh. You gotta have a side hustle just to make it too. On top of your career.

Technology is as strong as its ever been, but the job market being terrible and the cost of living being high, as well as being public enemy number one, as well as barely being able to afford school. shyt is almost impossible out here.

Houses in toronto avg price for a detached is nearly a million dollars, back in the day wasnt this high.

Shyt...back in the 70s, 80s, even the 90s, you could find a 1 bedroom in Manhattan for $750...quit a job and get another one the same day.

That seems like a pipe dream now with gentrification where the average price for an apartment is around $3,000.

also, that whole creative free wheeling spirit NYC used to have is gone, replaced by a bunch of bougie hipster schmucks and corporatized everything...

i didnt even have internet in 2001.

I think it was late 2000 actually. It was really shytty though. Much better than dial up but the service would constantly have outages and the top speed was 512 kb / second. Nothing like even the lowest tier packages these days.

On top of better technology, more open minded people, better looking women, and clothes you can wear. 80s babies had to grow up with the wannabe thugs and superthugs bragging about jail sentences and selling crack, having a small paradigm of thinking, and wearing the same 3 brands of baggy clothing.
