How's the food?

I don’t live there, but I was stationed in the Philippines for a few months while I was in the military, and I can answer this...

In my opinion the food there is terrible. Japanese food is way better..I’m more of a white meat chicken guy, but it seemed like most the meals there that have chicken in it is dark meat.

Also our chicken in America is filled with so many steroids, that the chicken there taste a little funny to me. I imagine that the chicken in the Philippines is how it’s supposed to taste without all the artificial shyt we put in ours.

I mainly ate Jollibees and other fast food places while I was there. The only local food I could stand over there was Lumpia..basically a Philippine egg roll

everything @Tommy Knocks is saying is correct though. While I was there, I was in Angeles City (I think it’s a suburb of Manila) and they were nice folks. They had us in a rural part called Crow Valley as well where people are dirt poor..no running water, no electricity and they live in tin shacks, but those were the nicest people I’ve ever came across in my life.

The night life is fantastic, but I’m sure it’ll get old quick if I actually lived there. I wouldn’t mind spending the rest of my days there like them old Vietnam war vets :lolbron:

my only complaint about the Philippines is the weather. I thought Georgia was hot and humid as hell in the summer, but that shyt is on a whole other level over there. I’d never be outside in the middle of the day in the Philippines.

sorry for jacking your thread mane @Tommy Knocks i just wanted to share some of my experiences there.

I would have to disagree about the food unless you're talking local food, however I've found some to be quite good like sinigang or beef stew. im a dark meat guy :dame:

but since I live pretty much in makati, I can get american food. I mean we have TGIF, wendys, red lobster, taco bell, multiple italian, middle eastern and indian restaurants. thats why I said the food is good. because you can get the same shyt as in america.

now if we're talking just pure local......"meh" its not bad......is it my fav? nah. I eat american and mexican food almost every day. in fact I have a pizza from papa johns on its way here right now :pachaha:

OP..

You are an inspiration for me. I admire brehs who live their lives on their own terms. I read your responses to your thread and liked how you handled one of your exes who tried to slide back into your life after dumping you for some ball player. How you handled it is how real players supposed to handle it! You kept it cordial and mackish, IMO.

Your attitude was indifferent towards her and you wished her luck(in your mind). She tried to be a choosy Susie and you deaded that shyt! Lol You are living proof that there are way too many women out there on this planet to be sweating one broad who chose to make bad choices in men.

Keep living your life and smash as many pinays as you can! Might as well since you live out there for now! Should you decide to bounce and move to another country, then do the same shyt in that country. You only live once!

Thanks for sharing your life adventures!

Respect!

I made a thread almost a decade ago about living in china as a black man, it was great sharing my experience with yall. and after 6 years, I have since left. Now I live in the Philippines.

I get questions pretty much every time I log in. I figure instead of derailing threads, yall could post your questions here. Feel free to ask away.
I have a virtual assistant from there. I saw an article recently about this giant ass bat and I thought it was fake. I asked him is this forreal and he's like yea and I'm like don't they freak you out. He's like na, we are more scared of monkeys. lmao shyt is a jungle out there forreal. He also told me the first Phillipinos were black.

What's a more tsunami safe part of the country elevation wise
man i dont know but ive been in 4 big earthquakes LA 94 style since being here its unnerving but apparently being in these towers is the safest place so i dont know.........not as bad as japan

Philippines come off as humble people to me. I heard they don’t really depend on credit cards over there like we do in America. Also how often do you eat at Jollibee? Lol
jollibee is nasty to me.......sorry:huhldup:

No doubt. I am sure you got a sizable roster out there. You would be a fool to be homotional when you could be getting your balls drained around the clock!

Don’t let the haters try to shame you for being a man! I gotta passport, but no stamps on it yet. Best believe, when I get the time to jet set, I would do the same shyt as you, no matter what part of the world I visit, if the opportunity presents itself! I respect brehs who do their own thing! Keep enjoying life, man!

Salute!
