1)Complexion is illegitimate when it comes to the black race.
2)If you discriminate on other black people based on complexion you're no different than the white supremacists who discriminate against us and claim we've contributed nothing to human history.
3)This color complex we have is not only found among black people it is found in many different cultures that have suffered colonialism.

When a black person expresses pride in listing the accomplishments of blacks he's doing so as a defense to the white supremacists who claim we are unequal. There's nothing wrong with that.

What 1%ers. What proof do you have that black Americans are descendant from west Africa? How do know the people from west Africa didn't have descendants from other parts of Africa? What about west Africans mixing with other Africans once they got to America? What about the black people that came here before slavery? What about black people who are still mixing today? What percentage of my heritage needs to come from a certain place for me to identify with that culture? Shouldn't I embrace all my ancestors?

So if you are descendant of West African slaves, you can look to the Ancient Egyptian region as black history. I'm not against it. I'm against inconsistency. Every other continent has countries with separate histories, ideologies, customs, languages, ect. It works because countries become more competitive which makes them strive to out produce each other. I don't care what industry you name to me, every industry is always booming when there is a lot of competition. No one is in competition when they are singing "Kumbaya let's all hold hands."

If you truly want to paint Africa as a monolithic, homogenous entity then that's on you.

Ancient Egypt was a civilization populated by what we now know to be "Black People". This is a historical fact. You can take it however you wanna take it. When Black Americans, who have been disfranchised, abused and enslaved for the last 4 hundred years think about their ancestry, they think of slave ships.

If the Chinese can be proud of their thousands of years of achievement in numerous fields, why cant black people be proud, in this racist world, of achievements that their people have done in the past?

And to all those, I am definitely not saying full black Americans haven't achieved greatness. I simply stated that a lot of the more significant achievements have been by bi-racial people and some of other acknowledgements that they get that in turn fall into "black achievements" because of the one drop rule.

I believe if this classification went away Black Americans would struggle for relevancy in an ever increasing multicultural society.

It still doesnt work because like I pointed out before. Prior to the diaspora we started in Africa. What kept "Sub Saharan" and Saharan Africans from commingling? What was there to keep Eastern and Western Africans from Commingling? Prior to Arab rule they were the same people.

And no Blacks won't, Blacks even tho only about 12 percent of this country, have establish themselves as part of this society, and in all reality it's too late, even if that classification goes away it will mean nothing.

Cause all you have to do is go to a Black family reunion, are you telling us, those light skinned members of the family, are gonna say they are not the same thing, as their dark skinned cousins, aunts, uncles, Grandmother and father.
