The article stated older homes and older appliances are the main issues, and even says we have higher bill across incomes levels. Black people could collectively follow the advice of posters and we'd still have a higher energy bill.

After reading the article. This really feels like the energy companies see the demographic of a particular area and increase say the kilowatt/hour by fractions. I also can't argue about older homes and appliances. If you don't own it, it's a burden getting a landlord or management company to not use the cheapest option.

That said me personally my bill is generally the highest may-september. Cause I be running my AC like it's no joke. You can always layer up if you're cold. What you doing being buck ass naked and still hot



I also leave all lights and shyt off and all my room doors closed.

My bill October - April is worth the extra I pay in the summer.

If u leaving out for work for the day for 8 to 10 hours turn that thermostat down or off

However, i do understand leaving a few lights on if u going out of town for a week, especially in the hoods..

But still winter time come you need that home heated because of poor insulation because of the old home

Bolded is exactly why having a smart/learning thermostat is such a value. Once it got that routine set to keep it warm while we're out and cool it down when we're actually there, managing the power bill got a lot less annoying.
