I always underestimate how intelligent they are. That other one was either mentally impaired, as you stated, or it was maybe weakened by disease and just didn't have the strength to do anything but lay down. A lot of those woodland creatures get some horrifying diseases. Deer and moose get brain worm, which is basically a parasite that invades and rewires the brain. Basically makes them zombies. Terrible way to go
Sad but not painful depending on how swift. Very uncomfortable. But as your body starts shutting down, you literally feel better...your organs go first, then your brain and ultimately your heart.

I had complications of a heat stroke or a heat stroke. The cramps were brutal but I was 12. Some people don't even get cramps and just drop......
