If you were moving to SoCal this year, what city would you recommend for a person in their 30’s who has a 4 year old? You think the IE is better elementary school and work wise or living directly in LA?

I’d like to be near black people if possible. I know it’ll take a minute but I plan on going for a fire department once I get all my stuff California approved. Coming from Detroit btw.

Until then I might go back to the trades (HVAC or maintenance)

Think the cost of living has really decimated certain segments of the population in San Diego. I think it's the third or fourth most expensive in the country.

In the context of this thread a good amount of relatives have relocated to Arizona as the money goes further. What you can make selling a two bedroom in SD can have you in something much larger in Arizona, or at last that's how it used to be.

Id choose IE of LA due to cost of living. I live in the IE myself

I like the IE. My family is in Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana. I could definitely see myself living out there.
