Here is what I don't understand and maybe @Professor Emeritus and others more knowledgeable of the education scene can inform me on this

What does MIT use for admissions? Is it strictly test scores and GPA?

If that's the case, why isn't there a concerted effort by black people to have their children "optimized" to take the test and excel at the SAT and at school, the same way these Asian people do?

This is not me saying that black people don't care about education. That's a fukking lie. I know many black parents who are singularly invested in their child's education. But holistically, not at the potential and probable expense of their child's mental health. They aren't making their children attend SAT prep as early as the 6th grade. And this isn't wrong. But we now know what the political landscape is regarding affirmative action and any admissions where race and historical injustices are taken into account... the country ain't having it. So if it's important that we are not only educated, but also represented at the very highest levels of education like MIT and Berkeley, why not change tactics? These Asians are playing the game openly because they know what the measurement is based on. Why can't we?

My future child attending MIT isn't that important to me. But it it was, you'd bet I'd have his/her ass in continuous SAT and after school programs. Gaokao his/her brain :mjlol:. Why isn't there a collective effort there?

Appreciate this being shot down if there's something I'm missing here.

How genetic is IQ? 5%? 20%? 80%? Some white groups scored in the low 70s during the early part of the 20th Century and now average around 100. That doesn't sound like biology to me.
There’s always going to be variance in a population compared to its average. Indian people are genetically the least athletic people on this planet on average, it’s literally a fact, but that didn’t stop a few of them making the NHL currently.

We used to do this, but white people/ govt interjected themselves* and our muscles atrophied. I myself am the product of such an approach, and it really was a community effort. My mother bartered for my piano lessons and math tutoring.

*I'm willing to explain this further if necc.

my brother graduated from one of the smaller Ivy League schools this summer and I just checked and that one is abt 6% black from 2 years ago …being on the campus though it looked closer to 2% shyt was sad as hell…it felt neck and neck between whites and Asians though and even Hispanics were well represented…they at 11%

The worst part because of that legacy shyt it’s almost impossible to recover from stuff like this…smh

The answers to your questions lay in the form of one word: systems.

Youre buying into the propaganda if you think that they were THAT SMART that they created this whole STEM hustle.

They didnt.

From the 70s til now The US started offloading labor to China, India, and Mexico and simultaneously stopped investing in domestic labor and education.

Meaning, the average US citizen has incrementally stopped receiving a quality education in public schools. And jobs that could teach citizens basic fundamentals in certain fields (such as tech support call centers), were sent overseas to save a buck (why do you think Indians have a monopoly in tech?).

Oh and to add insult to injury, the US decided to supplement "labor shortages" by means of the H1b1 visa.

IM not against immigration but understand, that visa program isnt meant to address labor shortages. Its meant to get labor over here for cheap, without ever having to improve the lives of the domestic populace.

Now some may say: "Most Asians who go to the Ivies/MIT/UC system are citizens who went to school in America :umad: "

But the point remains that MORE THAN LIKELY their parents (or someone in their family/friend group) saw the play, probably had a plug to walk them through every step of the game, and opted into a system that was producing winners who looked like them. A play thats easier mind you when you have a culture of collectivism and are coming into a country with your culture (and resources) intact (unlike Black folks who lack that level of community for a myriad of reasons).

That shyts resourceful. And opportunistic.

But dont confuse it for them "trying harder". They simply have a system they can opt into. Whereas Black folks have to work that much harder to even know that system exists, much less opt into it.

Which account is racist? I'm just tired of all the BS.

Seeing this M.I.T shyt makes me upset as fukk. The gap just gets wider every single day and people just seem ok with it. Then the stats drop.

Meanwhile many of us been trying to point this out every single time how bad it's getting.
The 'io' account is a vile racist who pushes debunked race science. They post nothing but misleading stats to drive the narrative that we are inherently inferior compared to white people and Asians based on IQ. In essence, he believes that Black people are subhuman. Don't post his shyt on here.

Honestly didn’t know and removed that part of my post.

If those numbers are true regarding the scores though, then that still needs to be addressed. I’m tired of people ignoring weak points. It does nobody any good to tell feel good stories while the other side puts their ego down, focuses on improving from their mistakes and learns to be better.

I peeped that account last year, Elon follows him and he made a big deal about it. He is clearly a eugenicist and a racist but when always challenged on it he masks it in “presenting data” or some bs.

I’d actually prefer to see admission rates at schools like Harvard, Dartmouth and Princeton. Those schools have a longer history of legacy admits which favors non-Black folks largely.

MIT claims they don’t look at legacy in their decision making process. How much of this is true, idk, but you aren’t as likely to see 4-5 generations of MIT admits just because someone’s great grandfather donated a library (to an extent)

I didn't have a 'fun' summer from 8-22. :mjlol:

So, here's how it usually goes. Community-minded black person starts a dope, effective program on a shoestring budget. Kids and families are fully engaged. Reading/ math scores going up. As soon as outsiders hear about it, money talk begins. 'If you did all that with $100, imagine what you could do with $1000! How many kids you could reach! :krs: "

If the founder is naive, they accept offers of funding, which inevitably comes with strings and personnel. Those personnel push the founder out. The program is no longer the original program, the spirit is gone, too many wp around to feel comfortable.

If the founder is savvy but honorable, they try to work out the best deal possible with minimal strings and personnel. This position places them in opposition to the funders, and on the funders shyt list. They will soon be pushed out.

(In both cases, the efficacy of the program will decline, but continue to limp along until it's no longer advantageous tax-wise for the funders OR a republican gets in office and cuts funding.)

If the founder is dishonorable, the program will blow up. There will be segments on GMA, Ted Talks, etc. LOTS of money, and personnel. The founder will bask in the attention, the program likely goes to shyt shortly thereafter, everything is pinned on the founder. You never hear from them again.

One more thing ill add:

In the Air Force, officers are pitted against each other to "stand out" and be "high achieving" to compete for promotion. The biggest prize for most officer is being fortunate enough to promote to pay grade O-6, Colonel. The Air Force culturally sets the tone that as an officer, your goal should be to fight for promotion to O-6.

With that said, certain career fields, certain schools, and certain achievement help your chances of promotion to O-6. The caveat being that not every USAF officer will be in these career fields, go to these schools and achieve these things, NO MATTER how hard they work (wont even go into "who you know" :sas2: being a huge factor as well).

Sure, some officers still promote to O-6 despite not doing the list of "things". But not nearly as many as who do those things.

So the question becomes is it truly a meritocracy if all you did was follow a checklist? Are you the truly the best candidate if you are just another model from a assembly line of people with the same attributes?

Take this example and apply it to Asians dominating higher education.

Why do people need to address stats put forward by racists? Why did you even have access to that? You’re a racist ass pull yourself up by the bootstraps dude or a c00n. Just because you don’t use all of the dog whistles doesn’t make you any less of one.

This.

You got folks here not even knowing what the fukk M.I.T is or what this means. That's literally a reflection of the culture, not a person.
