if your use of liberal = neoliberal i'm inclined to sort of agree since fascist come into power with populist ideas they never follow through with.

You're both right, it's just that the terminology has become more confusing in recent years especially for those who don't live on the internet.

When using the word "liberal", it's often tough to tell who means "leftist and possibly socialist" and who means "pro-market economic centrist out to support the status quo for the rich."

I don’t ascribe by the American conception of ‘liberal’. The American use of the word is a global outlier.

I was involved some with leftist black Twitter folks, strictly on Twitter, a couple years back but I stopped engaging completely. Only dude I ever really for real talked to was that SocialistMMA dude but he went off the deep end after the primaries. I’m guessing these nikkas were doin some kind of scammin

I don’t know what’s wrong with these gen z socialists. The amount of crazy shyt slinging on Twitter, along with all these new factions propping up(my favorite are “patsocs”) really turns me off from modern leftism. I’m fine just paying my union dues and working locally, because I refuse to consider any terminally online Twitter troll an ally.

Social media encourages shytposters of every type. Pisses me off when some of them are obtensibly on my side.

I first realized how bad this had become this a few years ago (maybe 2016?) when I saw an article about Berkeley students wanting to violently disrupt some right-wingers talk and defending the idea that their enemies shouldn't even be allowed to speak at events in their area, even if it requires violence to stop them from speaking. The whole approach was fukking caveman shyt and so completely irrational, but it appeared to be the wave with young people.

I'm glad that outside of TheColi I don't really participate in social media and such online communities, so I can maintain some naiviety on how bad its gotten. 95% of socialists on this site are good people.
