didn't find the article i was talking about, but this is the guy i was talking about. if you guys want to do your own research, there's tons of scientist that are coming around to the idea of intelligent design.

This makes no sense.

Seeing patterns doesn't mean things were intelligently designed.

Plus, what other aspect of existence are you comparing this to, to assert that our realm of "life" is designed and others arent?"

Its an inherently flawed proposition.

You're reaching for people to support your claim rather than defending the merits of your claim

Thats fine, but don't assert your doubt as evidence to the contrary claim.

Its the god of the gaps argument. You can't just keep holding out hope for a god in the realm of things we don't know YET.

hope? if there's a god, he/she/they doesnt give a fukk about us, and i'm definitely not a believer in the after life.

Actually, the earth rotates in a relatively "wide" zone and back and forth so theres some range there

breh, we're in the sweet spot, either way. can we at least agree on that?
We're not THAT shielded from asteroids, since they get through ALL the time. Some big. Some small. Some that wipe out a lot and some that don't do anything.

for a planet thats 4,600,000,000 yrs old, we've been significantly lucky in the way of devastating asteroids. why is that?

No. It's just that religion is a really touchy subject and important to people, eventually down the line, it would cause a rift (and pressure).
So you looking for a serious relationship/something long term?

people don't have to "support my claim," you seem to have more of a agenda about homosexuality and religious views more than i do. i'm just saying more scientist are starting to come out and admit they believe intelligent design is possible.

but you're asking someone that's 4% removed from a chimp to prove the origins of his existence, which i cant :ld:

This doesn't excuse your substitution of doubt and the infernece of your god of the gaps.

Youre asserting intelligent design because you don't understand evolution.

That may not even be true.

Life adapts to all sorts of conditions. Its entirely possible that the chemical composition of other environments may permit life, but we may live not only before or after it was or will be possible, but that we may not see it ourselves.

1. part of it has to do with larger planetary bodies that deflect their orbit

2. Asteroids don't HAVE to only hit earth.

3. they hit earth all the time, and we have evidence of this

how do you know we're not already in a simulation?

That's the point of building the simulation :ohhh:

If we can build one then we most likely are living in one :ohhh:

But then that means the people simulating us lives in a simulations too :mindblown:

see that's what bothers me about people who stick soley to "how" instead of the "why"

this is why i asked what are the odds of everything coming together the way it did to create this planet and support life. break down the odds for me.
