Why shouldn't they have to suffer in silence when the overwhelming responses to them is "shut up" "it's not a big deal"

Black women, the only women in our corner, just want to shyt on Black men for no apparent reason?

:patrice:

You have better reasoning skills than this.

Again, you're being completely obtuse and trying to argue a point I'm not even making. Read my post again. If those women feel street harassment is a legitimate issue, they should not have to suffer in silence. They should go to the black male leaders in the community and talk to them about. Those men can then holla at the dudes who are making our women feel uncomfortable to curb their behavior.

You're trolling again breh, I see you though :mjpls:

I don't think this is going to work, black leaders can't even get nikkas to stop killing one another.

I wonder if that makes organizations like ihollaback's life any easier, I wonder if that demonstrates to them that they use these same Black women, who can't turn to their own Black leaders, to further their own racist agenda...

I agree I believe black women are hesitant to bring this up with black men because they believe we won't care. This thread supports their beliefs.

What's disrespectful is you suggesting that women's issues are bullshyt because there are more serious issues out there.

It's disrespectful to suggest that women shouldn't be offended because you weren't trying to offend them "all I did was say she looks beautiful"

It's like white people who wear blackface and insist that they weren't doing it to be rude or disrespectful, it doesn't matter what your intent is, which is why my innocent greeting on the bread aisle could be taken as harassment.
piss poor analogy :what:

It never occurred to me to go to the black leaders in Harlem (preachers/pastors?) to address the issue of street harassment. I don't see it being effective now that I am thinking about it

You don't think going to the men who lead you're community about an issue you have in you're community would be effective? Why not?

Have you talked about it to the men in your family? What was their response?

I'm trying to find a single black women on this site who have brought up this topic to any of the community leaders/organizers where they live. So far not a single one of them have. I'm not sure if you're a female, but if you are have you brought this issue up to anyone you know in real life? If so, what was their response?

If there is no law or legislation to keep people from calling us ******s then what the fukk makes you think there should be laws against cat calling? :mjlol:

It's called freedom of speech.

I don't know who "leads" my community, if there are any leaders at all. Let's say they are the pastors, I don't see them going to street corners to try to curb these guys' behavior.
I don't talk about it w/ the men in my family

I believe you're being naive. If black women bring this up to black men they'll probably get called a dumb thot then the nikka will say he loves no thotties and that he's not a captain save a ho.

Ladies of the coli, has their been any situation in your entire lives where you've heard of women you personally know of, reaching out to Black leaders in the community, is their in instance where reaching out to those Black leaders has effected any visible change?

:lupe:

You know who IS helping these women, white supremacists, because the white supremacists came to the women to help while you're suggesting they reach out to these "black leaders" who have obviously done little to combat street harassment thus far.

You think the lady in the CNN video is an agent/tool of white supremacy? If you were to say someone like feminista jones who shyt on black men online wholesale I'd agree with you.

They both are. One's just a much bigger tool than the other. But each serve the same purpose.
