I watched 13th the other night with my girl and there were very very few Black women present.

Black women participated in 13th as commentators, they talked about 2 Black women leaders (they talked about 3 male leaders), a long with highlighting a woman's excessive sentence for possession (the only other specific person for sentencing they focused on was Kalief Browder)

They mainly talked about the system the focus was more towards Black men, which I agree with because they were the main targets especially in the beginning. Black women weren't completely left out at all tho.

This is dumb divisive complaint by her and I don't agree with it. It was a very good documentary.

Women commit crimes and are incarcerated at lower rates than men so thats not really an astounding revalation.

But the reality is there are more black women in the prison industrial complex than any other group of women.

Lets be honest. The US Justice system and prison system is the most racist in the WORLD.

Kind of... but it is really hard on poorer americans of all ethnicities...

"We found that incarcerated people in all gender, race, and ethnicity groups earned substantially less prior to their incarceration than their non-incarcerated counterparts of similar ages"
