:gucci:

Wouldn't those ppl be considered white c00ns? Working for and with a black man that disses white ppl on a daily basis? Wouldn't we call a black person working for and with a white person who diss black people daily?

That nikka is full of shyt. It would be one thing if he lived In a Z market city with a limited pool of production companies and crew... He lives in LA. There are literally dozens of qualified black producers, ADs, DPs, ACs, Gaffers, etc. and hundreds of hungry black film students and transplants from other parts of the country who could've delivered the same quality or better. If he really wanted to hire "quality" he could have hired unionized (i.e. ICG600, director's guild, etc.) black professionals but his budget more than likely wasn't enough for that. Any nikka talking about they can't hire a professional black film crew in NY/LA/ATL/CHI is full of shyt.

That’s a lazy cop out. Do your due diligence and find the best black people for the job. Tariq is always pro-black until it’s time to pay black people. Doesn’t allow blacks to invest in his projects and won’t hire them to work behind the camera.
its not a lazy cop out, ask anyone whose made projects how hard it is to have all black everything

its extremely hard.

and i am not a tariq fan btw, but i have done several projects

Tariq didn't say anything deep. I thought this was 101 for business minded people.

Boyce says nothing deep as well, just basic ass financial info.

and i am not a tariq fan btw, but i have dont several projects

I have created TV shows in Raleigh-Durham locally, I have made short films, started real estate ventures, invested in restaurants, started a record label and publishing company and a lot of nikkas in this thread are paper militants and paper entrepreneurs.

They talk that shyt on a message board but have never put these ideas into play. All my ideas stem from brainstorming with my homies while we drink and smoke and when it comes time to put shyt in effect they always find reasons to walk away from it due to shyt work ethics. I have had homies call me asking them to help get their ideas off the ground only to be THEE only nikka working while they start another project they won't finish with someone else.

I have lost a GRIP of money, connections and time dealing with my friends trying to get them a stream of incomes because I believe in black empowerment but they don't, want or can't (I.e. Felonies) work a traditional 9 to 5. All those projects I mentioned in the first paragraphs were all their ideas they roped me into and I end up completing the shyt myself or taking it over.

That's the thing about the Coli, it tries to make being pro black and militant sexy. This shyt is fukking hard when you log off and you really about that life. People don't give a fukk about none of the shyt you do until its financially lucrative. I started mentoring black children on weekends cuz during a drinking smoking session 5 of my homies thought we should help out the next generation and reach back. Guess who was the only one out of the 6 of us who went down to the Hayti Heritage Center and signed up for the program???? "Uh, uh I gotta work." "I got felonies if they run a background check." I've heard it all.

Getting any project done with ANY CREW is a goal in itself. The only people who disagree with Tariq are people who have never done shyt and think this shyt is a cake walk.

:stopitslime:The key word here is your friends. How many of them nikkas was serious about a film career in the first place? How much time had they put in to their craft before you approached them with your ideas? The fact that you even solicited your friends first instead of some nikkas who actually do it for real :mjtf:If you're putting any amount of money in you shouldn't be trading in favors unless it's favors with other professionals.

The filmmaker says that the only 2 choices are hiring qualified SWS white pros OR hiring a "bunch of Black folks because they are Black".
No other options.
even in LOS ANGELES
and even after several projects

You're saying that there's a third option, hiring qualified Black film professionals???
