What she is talking about is highly subjective.

So what is that she specifically wants?

It’s not rocket science, she is stating that the Black people Google prefers are African-Americans who identify with White American culture that most likely speak Standard American English.

If you are culturally African-American and speak African American Vernacular English you would be deemed not culturally fit which means they don’t truly want diversity.

They don’t want to be put outside their comfort zone, they want a nikka they can easily tolerate rather than one who is going to constantly remind him that he’s Black.

“Hey Dontrell did you watch friends?”

“I don’t watch friends, I watch Martin” :birdman:

“Oh wow I never heard of that, does that come on BET?” :merchant:

“No, it came on Fox” :what:

“Oh” :hubie:

An hour later they talking at the water cooler..

“I don’t think Dontrell is a great fit” :ld:

I’ve had white people ask me c00n questions at work trying to see if I was culturally African-American...I always make sure they know I’m on to them too. They be asking me my views on Trump and I be like “What do you think, I think about Trump? Do I act in a way that would make you think my opinion would be different than what is expected?”

It be having muhfukkaz puzzled. But most aware White people won’t even go there cuz I don’t really code switch at work...I act culturally African-American 99% of the time. I be bumping Mobb deep in my headphones bobbing my head...they know I’m not a token the minute the see me.

with respect to code switching...

if i understand the term correctly...talking to white people the way i talk to my friends, during an interview...would only breed confusion and prevent it from going smoothly. The reason is because they probably wouldnt understand what I'm even saying given the slang and age difference. Why is that an issue? If youre interviewing with a director or somebody 20 years older than you, why would you expect to be able to talk to them the same way you talk to your friends. People code switch for not just work, but for all sorts of reasons: when talking to your friends, vs your girlfriend, vs your parents vs coworkers etc. It is what it is

Another time folks code switch is when doing business. Code switching when negotiating a car deal, buying a property or business in smart practice.

For one you want to make sure the person knows that you aren't uneducated on the subject, can't be tricked, mean business and aren't trying to be buddy buddy to get the deal done.

That is true for cops, politics, and court jury. They scream diverse but the black person or other minority, hates black or their own kind, married to a white person, or their spouse is a sell out also. Like Sheriff David Clarke, Ben Carson, Kanye West. I remember on the Jordan Davis trial, one the black jurors they had was a crazy looking lesbian c00n was saying its not about race.

The media tries to sway black people and ease any criticism by pushing their black candidate to the front. To be like see we hire black people out company is diverse. But then if you research the black person their a republican, the im not black im oj, uncle rukus type who is proabably married to a white person. Or hire a black model for a racist campaign like with black kid wearing the 'coolest monkey in the jungle' hoodie. Or all the family ads I see with a single black mom with no dad. Or the black person is really half black or racially ambiguous. Like a lot of black hair care company instagram pages will have mixed with black women with type 3 hair using their products. Like they have Traci Ellis Ross or Chili using their curl cream like see this product works. Shea Moisture got in trouble for having 2 white girls and a mixed looking chick in a hair ad. But they are not the only ones who do it. Even in the facebook games I play. I play cooking games where you have to serve some one food in a limited amount of time or they leave the restaurant and you lose points. I've noticed the they black female characters always get angry more quickly than other characters. I can type out a lot more examples. But if you look around you see it alot.

I mean we talking about stereotypes and stuff so yea I agree with you
That's why I said if you work in corporate america certain black people going claim you not really "black" regardless of your background
It's dumb and defeatist and almost penalizes people for "making it" but whatever
No a person that works at Google and makes $200k+ a year is not going to end every sentence with "yamean" or agree with whatever dumb hood law is prevailing at the time
If people reduce blackness to that so be it but it's sad
I don’t disagree with anything you said so maybe I read your previous post wrong. It happens sometimes.

Also if you ever go to NSBE you can see how google, apple and DoD get down.

DoD companies will be literally hiring entry level black engineers on the spot. I have seen whole groups of young black folks hired.

Then you look at the google and apple booths and they taking resumes telling them kids "we will keep in touch....thanks".

:yeshrug:Government firms has better recruiters than the big 4 and have intent to hire people who are diverse. Half these big 4 companies be complaining how they can't get black talent, and they dead be doing what you said at these fairs.

Sometimes fit is important. Working with people you don't like sucks.

Yeah but when you don’t like people because of the color of their skin then that’s a problem. These companies will hire:

the white nerd
The white goth
The white geek
The white recluse
The white outgoing person
The white leader
The white non-college graduate
The white college graduate
The white GED holder
The white post grad
The white not qualified but we gonna take a chance
The white follower
The white liberal
The white conservative
The white vegan
The white vegetarian

...but when it comes to African-Americans then they wanna be all stringent about cultural fit. What “cultural fit” means is “can we tolerate this nikka around the office”? Is he going to say, do
, and eat things that make us have to deal with his Blackness or are we going to be able to ignore his skin because he acts just like us. This is definitely prevalent in liberal circles where they have to pretend to like people other than white.
