How many "stereotypical blacks" do y'all know getting these advanced degrees though?

You don't need an advanced degree to work at Google breh

What she is talking about is highly subjective.
So what is that she specifically wants?

with respect to code switching...
if i understand the term correctly...talking to white people the way i talk to my friends, during an interview...would only breed confusion and prevent it from going smoothly. The reason is because they probably wouldnt understand what I'm even saying given the slang and age difference. Why is that an issue? If youre interviewing with a director or somebody 20 years older than you, why would you expect to be able to talk to them the same way you talk to your friends. People code switch for not just work, but for all sorts of reasons: when talking to your friends, vs your girlfriend, vs your parents vs coworkers etc. It is what it is
“Hey Dontrell did you watch friends?”
“I don’t watch friends, I watch Martin”
“Oh wow I never heard of that, does that come on BET?”
“No, it came on Fox”
“Oh”
An hour later they talking at the water cooler..
“I don’t think Dontrell is a great fit”![]()

I don’t disagree with anything you said so maybe I read your previous post wrong. It happens sometimes.I mean we talking about stereotypes and stuff so yea I agree with you
That's why I said if you work in corporate america certain black people going claim you not really "black" regardless of your background
It's dumb and defeatist and almost penalizes people for "making it" but whatever
No a person that works at Google and makes $200k+ a year is not going to end every sentence with "yamean" or agree with whatever dumb hood law is prevailing at the time
If people reduce blackness to that so be it but it's sad
Also if you ever go to NSBE you can see how google, apple and DoD get down.
DoD companies will be literally hiring entry level black engineers on the spot. I have seen whole groups of young black folks hired.
Then you look at the google and apple booths and they taking resumes telling them kids "we will keep in touch....thanks".
Government firms has better recruiters than the big 4 and have intent to hire people who are diverse. Half these big 4 companies be complaining how they can't get black talent, and they dead be doing what you said at these fairs. It’s not rocket science, she is stating that the Black people Google prefers are African-Americans who identify with White American culture that most likely speak Standard American English.
If you are culturally African-American and speak African American Vernacular English you would be deemed not culturally fit which means they don’t truly want diversity.
They don’t want to be put outside their comfort zone, they want a nikka they can easily tolerate rather than one who is going to constantly remind him that he’s Black.

They accept black people who "act" and "speak" a way that they like
Sometimes fit is important. Working with people you don't like sucks.
So... professionals?

got a DVR full of it
You can be professional and speak African-American Vernacular English and love chitterlings, hate Seinfeld, and have 360 waves.
