I kinda hate the idea of there being “stereotypical” black people vs “whitewashed” ones. We’re not a monolith and we don’t need to share the same tastes in everything. If it’s one of those self-hating Uncle Ruckus type folks that’s one thing, but judging blackness based on the types of entertainment you consume or how much slang you use is ridiculous.

Why are you associating our speech patterns with slang? Why can Bostonians speak their dialect and be perfectly respected but when African-Americans speak ours it’s slang? If a Bostonian says “Cah Keeze” or “Bang a Uey” in a meeting no one flinches but when an African-American says “Axe” instead of Ask they are considered unintelligent.

I don’t know you but you’re sounding like a hit dog that’s hollering. WASP companies exclusively hiring assimilated black folk raised in WASP culture, effectively practicing discrimination considering how much race and culture align. This is reality.
