One of the underrated parts about living in Japan is meeting white people here and them breaking down about how shytty they are treated and how they are second class citizens

Had a white guy professor with a damn phd who has been Japan for years break down in near tears about how he was shoved out of the way and called a dirty foreigner on the train. “He said it to my face”!” :damn:

:mjlol:
I was there when this was happening and I swear even though it's been over a decade, it's still as funny as when I saw it live.

So many a time when I was working there, so many white folks flocked to me seeking solidarity because, I assume they knew how black folks got treated everywhere else and wanted sympathy. This only happened to the dweebs who couldn't speak the language, like others said.

As a Black man who not only has been to Japan, but has also had dealings with Japanese people for the past 15 years:

-- Japanese people on the whole are more ignorant than outright KKK-type racist, especially to Black folk

-- If Japanese people ARE racist, it's towards Koreans and Chinese (and perhaps other southeast asians, like Filipinos, who they tend to look down on). They don't look at us in the same fashion as White people look at us. It's like a curiosity

-- Their country is something like 98% them, where they all speak the same language with (minor differences, outside of Okinawa). This means, not just Black folk, but any other group of people stick out like a sore thumb. Because their culture is about collectivism and focusing on the group, western people can't handle it. We're so caught up in sticking out and trying to be expressive, when you got 150 million people trying to fit in. There's going to be some clashing there.

-- If you speak the language, YOU'RE IN. They open up to you like a fukking children's book. To be clear, to them, you'll never be Japanese (I've had girls call me a "gaikokujin" while they were here in LA lmao. That word means foreigner), but you'll be in the group. Absolute dime pieces will be available to you, and they have incredible personalities.

That's been my experience.

Living in Japan while Black can be difficult if you're not trying to fit in and if you refuse to acclimate to the culture and language. You might also run into some issues with people thinking you're a tout. The African touts over there are particularly aggressive-- nikkas grabbed my arm and tried to drag me into a club fam :mjlol:

Nikka, I am 6'1, 6'2" on a good day, and 215, but they ain't even scared to walk up to me and grab me. They gotta stop that shyt mane. I almost busted that dude head wide open :hhh:
I was playing a Yakuza game and they had them tout dudes in there. I thought they just put some breh in there and made him hustle on some random shyt.

:mjlol: :mjlol:

I had some questions

1. What should you do if you’re a tourist late 20s and up going dolo out there that doesn’t know the language, but wants to have fun?

2. How long does it take to learn decent Japanese?

3. If it’s hard for brehs to make a living out there, why do they choose to go there, and for the brehs who do decently out there what type of jobs do they have?

4. Where you meet the dimes at and how was it when you talked to them, and how was it dating them?

The myth is pretty popular. You almost always hear that they worship cacs.

It's because they do here in America.

The White Man/Asian girl thing is real, at least here in LA. Asian men damn near worship White women.

So these nikkas go to the real Asia and think they're going to get treated the same way Asian Americans worship them and then they get hit with

:unimpressed:

I ain't got any issues with White people, but it's funny to see them on our level, dealing with being treated as a second class for a change.

My first military assignment was Yokota AB. I had so much fun over there. I was only 19 at the time so I guess you could say I might’ve been naive about a lot of things but I don’t recall any negative experiences. I found that everyone was polite and hospitable. And I remember being surprised that there was a sizable African population there. I remember walking up to someone at a train station when I was lost because they looked like me but they didn’t understand a word of what I was asking. Lol. Anyway, overall a good experience. I’ve also been stationed in Korea and they aren’t nearly as polite or friendly there.

Same thing happened to me. But I was on a walk from Shinjuku to Odaiba and these kids probably hadn’t seen a black person outside of the street hustlers there.

Considering the length of the Rainbow bridge, they saw me once and did not stop running.

That’s why that idiot in this thread needs to STFU and stop talking about other peoples experiences.
Coward. Too shook to respond to me personally but talking slick like a broad. You don't know why they was running but your inferiority complex got you crying like a girl

1. Stick to Tokyo. It technically is "foreigner friendly" in that they ain't gonna treat you poorly because you Black. They've seen Black people before, but just expect some stares. I'd say hit up the clubs in Roppongi and izakayas in Shinjuku if you drink.

2. I studied Japanese for many years. I got good by interacting with actual Japanese people and having a Japanese girlfriend while in college. I'd say 6-10 months, you'll be decent, but only if you take it seriously. The hard part of Japanese is Kanji. Sentence structure is slightly different to ours. In English, its Subject-Verb-Object (I'm going to the store) whereas in Japanese, its Subject-Object-Verb (I'm, the store, going to: 私は店に行きます). Takes a bit of rewiring of your brain, but it's easy man. Just be serious about your shyt.

3. A lot of brehs (Americans) that live there are military or teachers. Far more common for military than teachers though. And I suppose people go there because they like the culture, or hell, even looking for love. I've always been fascinated with Japanese Shinto and Buddhist art, personally.

4. Most of my dating experience came from Japanese girls living in Los Angeles being exchange or language students. A lot of them, I met while I was in college. Speaking to Japanese girls is as easy as revealing you have some language capacity I SWEAR. They will be so impressed by you speaking Japanese to them, they will let their guard down instantly. It's incredible how many times it's worked for me.

And the dimes I saw in Japan were in Shinjuku, Tokyo. I saw some cute girls in Akihabara, and Asakusa, where they were wearing kimonos for the Sanjamatsuri festival. shyt was GAS homie. Loved it the entire time.

What should late 20s and up brehs do if they go there dolo? Is it cool to go to clubs and other spots dolo like that? Tryna see how to move out there when it’s only you.

I remember you saying not to try to bag women on the street, so I’m guessing to use apps or clubs then?

Appreciate the advice breh.

I was moving around dolo when I was out there, so you should be good. Just be respectful, wear your mask (because everybody masked up right now lol) and you'll be iight.

Police might stop you to size you up, but it's not a Black thing, they do this to White people too. They really want to practice English on you lmao think I'm lying.

Yeah them apps would be a good option, but seriously, just interact with people. You'll be surprised how easy it is-- Japanese people ain't gonna bite your head off for saying hello. Just, on the street, you gotta realize people trying to GET somewhere. The trains be there on the fukking dot, so people are legit in a hurry or trying to be somewhere on time.

That's mainly why I recommend clubs if you trying to score. Check out the hip hop clubs specifically, if that's your scene. You'll find a decent amount of them burapans there, but be careful, they might be older than they look :mjlit:

How long you lived in Japan?

You said they gotta stop that? You been grabbed up multiple times by african men in Japan?!

If you travel round Asia. You'll run into them, usually Nigerian or sometimes Kenyan

Always almost trying to get you into a bar or late night club. I've ran into them in Japan, Hong Kong and Thailand. And yes they try and strongarm you into certain spots.

I just tell them I'm good brother and keep it moving.

Actually the ones in HK were a bit more out there. I was walking back from seeing a chick at her place this was 2.00am in the morning and I see 3 brehs and a black woman on one of the main roads here. Everything was closed and the street was empty. And from the way she was dressed I think they were pimping her. As I did see a few African prostitutes whislt on my stay here hanging round the night markets.

They have these apartments here that are mostly lived in by African and Indians and a lot of fukkery happens round there.

Sounds like any spot that's hustling. I used to be phased by it when I traveled the carribeam it's the same strong arm shyt.

After a few trips, I had to to tell this one kid to get his guy. Tried to extort me on the beach and claim I owe him money. His boy came and I started laughing at him. He said shoot the 31 seconds In the back yard.

Another product of American gangster shyt dripping into the islands.

In my experience, Japan hasn't been, but Korea has been.

Koreans are way more closed minded about a lot of things breh, and I'm just telling you what I know. I'm sure there are some Japanese colorists out there, but they ain't ever came at me sideways about my skin tone. In fact, they've always said they loved it (I'm like a honey colored brown skin).
I’m kind of surprised about Korea. I thought they were supposed to be major westaboos. iirc, isn’t most of their Kpop industry just aping American hip hop?

Breh, you would be surprised with how much shyt they steal from us and then think its theirs lol

Like, the entire concept of K-Pop is a western invention. Koreans wasn't making boy bands, and rapping and shyt back in the 1950s when their country was dirt ass poor. Meanwhile, rock and roll was damn near in full swing at that time out here, with Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Elvis popularizing the genre.

But yeah mane, Koreans are (rightfully) hesitant of others and don't let you in the circle easily. They're strong minded and arguing with them is usually a waste of time. But if you get them as friends they're loyal as fukk
