You don't know that.

Well, I'm definitely willing to find out. I just think that if it's not really the case, and it's just some dikkriding "me too" bandwagon then it's in extremely poor taste (not to mention ridiculous) considering the seriousness/sensitivity of it. If Toronto police are not murdering unarmed black civilians like that then their energy would be better spent showing solidarity and support to the American chapters.

Black youth and new comers have been major targets for Toronto police service for the past few years. Black people and immigrants have had their homes raided in specific community housing neighborhoods because of TPS's speculation of illegal activity (which is happening in these neighborhoods, but still doesn't mean to remove hundreds of people from their neighborhoods).

There isn't a large scale black solidarity movement in Canada and so far the general growth and popularity of BLMTO is providing the opportunity for the organization to be just that or the beginning of more organizations like that to begin and grow

Black lives matter are victims for pay. People asking what they do, that is their job and has been since day 1.

And the other dumbasses that blindly follow really believe they're doing something. To them they're "challenging", "breaking down", " re-defining spaces" and all that other feminist garbage.

The police there have shot a few unarmed people. What they do alot of is beating innocent citizens and sending them to the hospitals. Some hospitals are even used to or aware of it. They even beat kids/teenagers.

A group of Black Lives Matter activists temporarily shut down Canada’s largest gay pride parade on Sunday, when they stopped marching until the parade organizers agreed to their demands.

BLM, which was invited to march in the gay-rights celebration as an honorary group, stopped two-thirds of the way down the parade route, began chanting “Shut it down!” and lit several flares.

The parade was stalled for about half an hour, until Toronto Pride Director Mathieu Chantelois, whose group puts on the parade, met with the protesters and signed off on the list of demands.

The demands included an end to police floats at the parade and more spots dedicated to groups representing queer people of color. The BLM demand sheet said Pride Toronto had engaged in “anti-Black racism” by reducing the visibility of gay people of color in the march.

Mike McCormack, who heads the Toronto police union, said Pride organizers should be ashamed of themselves for agreeing to the ban on police representation in the march.

“Shame on Pride organizers,” Mr. McCormack tweeted on Sunday
