Black LIVES matter was in response to the disproportionate number of police killings of unarmed black men in America.

Black people are 3% of the population Canada. Hardly a factor there.

Even as a Canadian I must admit that this is true. Not too many black males are involved with blm toronto. In some sense it is a social media circle jerk, though some members are genuine. Other members are on that heavy. Quite a few of them talk slick about black men which is partially the reasonong why black males aren't a massive part oftheir collective in the first place. In fact I'd wager that there are more white females than black males in BLMTO and perhaps BLM in general. Really is centered around feminist perspective
