This is why we need articles and studies that combat the black male privilge b.s. cause even tho it should be obvious that it is an oxymoron, people are actually getting tricked into believing it.

It clearly didn't based on the people besides myself that replied. Again you made a statement that has nothing to do with what is being discussed. Was that an attempt to absolve white women?
...and an attempt to "include" black women.
Trying to force-intersect the convo.

My statement was regarding how someone could even think slaves and non-slaves could be compared in general. Because to go even further and say that slaves, in fact, had more privilege is just ludicrous.

I get where you were going but there is a point where one can become too intersectional. And this statement didn't help either....

I understand the underlying comparison of womanhood to chattel

A lot of these dudes also uphold this kind of shyt because they are eating. I get p*ssy ect if you don't too bad. when it's not about sex. it's about truth. Black women do suffer at the hands of many people including black men. But black men also suffer at the hands of many people, including black women. it's just that black men by nature of our gender are a threat to non black males or viewed that way. Just like other male mamamals. This happens in naturer. so we cannot assimlate and we can't run for long because as long as we exist we can be a threat via procreation or war. Idk why this is so hard for black feminists (notice I didn't say black women) To understand. This is why contrary to popular belief black men haven't been conquered. You cannot conquer in a war based on eugenics and fear of genetic annihilation. You can only destroy. Black men in truth are the only ones who have not stopped fighting because we simply can't.

I mean, male privilege was definitely a thing back then regardless of social status, however it's disingenuous to compare the privilege of male slaves to white women. I understand the underlying comparison of womanhood as chattel, but that in itself dismisses a (non-enslaved) woman's own agency.

It’s no such thing as male privilege period and a slave surly didn’t have any privilege over a free white Woman.
What privilege do you get as a man that is universal?

All I was saying is that I understood what they were trying to compare, because that would have to be the initial argument before going off the deep end and saying that slaves had more privilege than non-slaves.

This is what happens when mainstream feminists talk about "male privilege", they put ALL men into it. Repeat the same thing 100000000 times in books, conferences, movies, TED talks, articles, tweets, etc...and all of a sudden Black Men (as a group) go from being victims of slavery, colonization and general racism to being guilty of the same things White Men (as a group) have been guilty of for centuries, while White Women somehow manage to extract themselves from their own participation in White Supremacy.

And if a Black Man speaks up against this he's "mansplaining" :francis:

Men have historically had more agency than women. Pretty sure that's a fact. If we're talking about now then I'd say there's none.
