the same act would bring about the same result tho, no matter if there was wrongdoing or not. acting like a c*nt will get u harassed whether u are doing something wrong or not.

It's a natural human reaction to be defensive when someone is trying to make it seem like you're doing wrong...when you know you've done nothing. I highly doubt the cop pulled the driver over and the driver was being a c*nt off the bat. He was test driving a BMW!! It was probably a very good day for him.

maybe he wasnt being a c*nt but maybe he was we dont know that. he coulda been happy as hell test driving that beamer and then as soon as he saw the sirens he probably turned to chuck D on some "here we fukking go with this bullshyt!"

i dont blame the man too much if that was his reaction cause he IS human, but had he shown more restraint he coulda kept enjoying his test drive :manny:

A paper in the seat within plain view does need a warrant to be looked at. If a cop can see it through the window he can ask to see it.

Well we certainly have differing opinions.

If I were in that situation I would have just shown the officer the papers stating it was a test-drive vehicle (assuming there were such papers and he knew where they were). I don't think its much different than if a cop pulled you over and asked you to present your registration or proof of insurance. I understand that they were being racist from the jump but I think in the bigger picture it looks better for his case that he did comply with one request and they continued with their racist actions. There are plenty of things the cops could have done to verify his claims but again they are racist and we know they are not going to do that so you might as well make yourself look as good as possible for the pending lawsuit.

Why isn't your clean background and superb driving record enough? It gets really tiring going the extra mile all the time. So that's not enough, you need to eyeball around the car too? At least they tried to call the dealership, right?

exactly, they wasn't worried about no damn papers and they prolly ain't even call the fukkin dealership.

Here’s what the Snellville police department had to say about the matter:

The officer observed a paper on the rear seat that appeared to be of the type dealers use when placing a vehicle for sale. He asked if he could retrieve it and Mr. Sowells refused. Based on his refusal to provide information and his passive and then active resistance, Mr. Sowells was charged with obstruction

shyt seems highly unlikely to me that it went just like that. if the cop is telling us he saw something that would absolve the driver and clear up this whole situation just laying in the backseat I would think something along the lines of "ok grab that paper back there it looks like that will help straighten things out" is said and who is going to argue with that. we already know these police will straight up embellish and prop themselves up when it comes to stuff like this.

I could understand what people are saying if the officers had actually pulled him over for no reason. But he was driving in a car without tags. Obviously we know its because it was a car that was just being test driven, but the cops have no way of knowing that without confirmation. People get pulled over for their tags every day, my fiancé got pulled over for expired ones just last week.

I can understand him first saying to call the dealership, that's probably what I would have done to confirm (or even asked the cops to follow me there since it was so close). But after they called and couldn't get anyone on the line, he should have complied. Doing all this refusing escalated the situation for no reason because he was in the right and simply had to show them so.
