Never said or implied it was...

I'm speaking as an outside observer.
And if everything is so brotherly between tribes within those countries...why do yall run to live up under whites when you got large landmasses, ripe with resources of your own? :dwillhuh:

The best and the brightest from those countries use their trades & talents to contribute to and enrich white economies instead of their own.

And if you think Africans are so brotherly in their dealings with other "Africans" outside of their tribe or nation...won't you come on down to DC and see how Ethiopians and other Africans seperate and distinguish themselves from African-Americans...not to imply that there's any real tension between the two...but they definitely prefer to deal with and employ their own above all others...which there's nothing wrong with and i don't even consider that a slight against us...it's logical and something we as African-Americans should've kept doing wholesale.

Yall are really in this thread pretending Africans don't put tribe (and sometimes religion) 1st above all. :heh:
Why do people from the hood move better areas when they get money or have an opportunity? Cmon bruh there's a pretty obvious answer to why people move to Europe and North America

To the first bolded, you're either playing obtuse or really really really need to realize that not everything in life is about race/ethnicity. Come on breh :ld:. Most of these people leave because their countries are desperately poor that should be extremely self evident. Most immigrants send money back and visit all the time, they don't want to be there, they just don't see many other viable options.

I never said or implied that African immigrants all get along with AA's, but that doesn't really have anything to do with whether they're black or consider themselves black or not. Even among whites, they separate and distinguish themselves all the time, that doesn't mean they're not all ultimately white. There's all out hostility between Dagestan/Caucus whites and Russian whites in Russia.

Now for the second bolded, that's as common as AA's who put their nationality (Raven Simone, Whoopi and other American New Blacks who say "I'm not African American I'm American!") or religion above all else (fanatical Christians). So in other words it's not that common. Most just identify with all three aspects (religion, race, nationality).

@Trajan

When Mugabe, Peter Tosh, Diop, Marcus Garvey, Steve Biko, Fela Kuti, Idris Elba (off the top of my head) and all these other non-Americans call themselves black they're saying they're African American???

I'm African and have travelled to several countries in Africa.

I never saw anyone call themselves black.

Which countries did you go to, and what context did self identification come up :mindblown:? Are you Habesha?

"Better areas" :jbhmm:

Not every predominately African-American neighborhood is a "hood".

And because they're spineless cowards with no integrity or loyalty to their people & community if they prefer to live in a predominately white community over a black one would be my answer. Same could be said about Africans that take the easy way out and run away from their own people to go live up under cacs. But some people prefer to be individuals and are only concerned with the well-being of themselves and their immediate family and that's fine too

But a large part of the socio-economic problems in alot of black communities in America, have their root in the black upper class, which served as the economic base for the black middle and working class pre-integration...abandoning their communities post-integration to go live in white ones...there were thriving black communities in places like DC, Harlem, Durham, Detroit etc. headed by the black upper class, filled with tons of black owned businesses, black universities, black banks, black sports leagues, black media outlets, black hospitals & pharmacies...all used primarily for the benefit of black people...100's of years of work threw down the drain for whiteys "civil rights act" so we can live in his neighborhoods, fukk his women :noah:and pour our money and talent into his businesses and institutions.

I specifically said the hood for a reason bruh. I'm obviously not going to change your mind, just one question, are Latin people and Asians who emigrate also spineless cowards?

That's really childish and myopic, breh. In a hellhole like Bulawayo there's no employment and empty grocery stores eevrywhere. A man who leaves the only home he's ever had away from his family, and endures/overcomes cac racist institutional practices for 8 years or so to procure enough skill and capital to feed his family and funnel the money he's made back to his community is not even close to a spineless coward. The "easy way out" is the only way out in some of these places.

Creative ? Arguable. Influential? No doubt

Yeah. And Im not trolling but I can't help but bust out in laughter when I read some stuff on here.. Like Im sure not even the people writing it actually believe that shyt...

Black people are influential no doubt.. but its only to white people who have absolutely zero culture about them, and will steal and market anything for a dollar..

Has a better chance of feeding his family and providing a habitable living enviroment for them in a racist system as opposed to one run by their own people? Interesting. :jbhmm:

You can argue that African-Americans were more well off socio-economically when we OWNED and were in charge of our own communities...produced more doctors, engineers etc. had our names on more patents...everything wasn't peaches & cream...but there are alot of social ills that weren't present en masse until we integrated with whites.

But with Africans it's the opposite...interesting.
