Yeah. And Im not trolling but I can't help but bust out in laughter when I read some stuff on here.. Like Im sure not even the people writing it actually believe that shyt...

Black people are influential no doubt.. but its only to white people who have absolutely zero culture about them, and will steal and market anything for a dollar..
Nah think globally. African American culture is beloved worldwide especially among marginalalized communities

Well I actually travel... and I can tell you that this is not the truth.. Yes I see examples of hip hop culture in other countries but it's not a dominate force..

All those hats fitted hats, Shirts with large logos, Baggy clothes, showing your boxers, Basketball shoes half tied on your feet etc etc.

Its not as popular as you think.. But you would have to actually travel and not just look on Instagram, and Google to really understand this

The camera is really distorting a lot of perceptions in society as a whole.

Just because 50 cent does a hip hop concert in Moscow for 30,000 people doesn't mean that tens of millions of people are living like that or listening to that kind of music.. ... Like I said you have to actually go and travel to understand that everything you see on your tv or your computer is not real.. So it's far from beloved...

Quick example of what I mean.. I was in France a few months ago.. and we were watching tv.. And on there cable they get MTV, and a show with LL Cool J came on. And this is how he was dressed like

And they were laughing because he's like almost 50 years old and dressing like a kid...

I know you don't see anything wrong with this.. But Im telling you when you actually travel to places like Paris, and Rotterdam, and Amsterdam.. you will see that this hip hop style is not as popping as you might think..

Why are you assuming I'm talking about hip hop or I don't travel, if you're going type that much at least make concrete points

Sorry.. Im a little more advanced on this topic then you..

I guess I should have started with a basic question so I wouldn't have to type so much, because Ive had this convo a thousand times on here

But you probably don't realize this but AA don't have any culture other then hip hop so that had to be what you ere talking about by default when you refer to AA culture

Y'all really don't have any other contributions to the world.. "culture wise" .. You don't have your own food, language, architecture, flag, no way of life .... everything that is considered AA "culture is related to hip hop...

no country = no culture (and that's the situation AA are in)

Neither LL or 50 have been popular in years. When did you leave Jamaica? African American music gets play down there.

Has a better chance of feeding his family and providing a habitable living enviroment for them in a racist system as opposed to one run by their own people? Interesting. :jbhmm:

You can argue that African-Americans were more well off socio-economically when we OWNED and were in charge of our own communities...produced more doctors, engineers etc. had our names on more patents...everything wasn't peaches & cream...but there are alot of social ills that weren't present en masse until we integrated with whites.

But with Africans it's the opposite...interesting.

You have no idea how fukked up some African countries are. In Zimbabwe or Malawi I would definitely say yes to that question :ld:. It's not about race, and the kleptocratic scum that runs Africa (at least much of southern Africa) aren't their "own people" (they're not for their people). If African Americans had their own republic, but it was corrupt as hell, run by Creflo Dollar and Umar Johnson, monthly hyperinflation hit 350%, elections were rigged and leaders regularly stole from the treasury and had citizens murdered would you show unwavering loyalty because it's run by "one of you"?

The second bolded is nonsense. Why do you reduce everything that goes on to race? You seem to know next to nothing about that part of the world. I'm not saying that as an insult or to make a slick comment, I'm honestly just saying it's multi-faceted and you doesn't seem to know the depth of corruption there at all.

I know hip hop is played in Jamaica.. Its played across the world so what..

Just because it's "played doesn't mean that its popular and "beloved" as what Dip was saying..

Soccer is "playing in the US... that doesn't make it "beloved" nor does it make it popular
